Found this when my charger for it went out... new one on sale is barely more than the charger. This is handy when I don't want to go all the way out to the toolshed for something quick.
The original TEK4 model HP52L screwdriver was awesome! Ryobi really got it right the first time by giving the HP52L two speeds, an LED light, a 24-position clutch, a locking bit holder, and of course the removable/rechargeable TEK4 battery. I have and still regularly use mine which is now 13 years old. Ryobi discontinued this model and replaced it with the HP53L which was a major disappointment. The main difference? The original HP52L has a 24-step clutch which makes it simple to tighten screws just the right amount, even into soft materials like plastic. It's perfect for projects on the workbench which involve disassembly/re-assembly or for drilling small holes, as might be needed during equipment repair/modification. Ryobi still sells the successor in this TEK4 line, the HP54L, which also has no clutch.
The HP41L does have two speeds but it lacks a clutch, a light, and a replaceable battery. The the HP41L has a magnetic bit holder vs. the locking bit holder on the HP52L. Meh.
Eh, it's a screwdriver. 18V is needed for the impact driver, this is probably just fine.

With the removable battery? Me too... I liked that platform, have a few tools on it.

This is a very confusing post and thread. There are several different screwdrivers being mentioned here. The HP41L mentioned in the post title is not what the links go to. And the Amazon link is to a different screwdriver than in the Home Depot link.
FWIW, Ryobi 4V screwdrivers have been on sale for at least a few weeks. And Ryobi very recently released a new 4V screwdriver that is recharged via a standard USB cable.

Is it going to burn through batteries? Can you use rechargeable AAA with this?

The instructions for that 6V B&D screwdriver say to use alkaline batteries only. I have no personal experience with it, though.

I snatched this one up yesterday as a filler for some reason. I am looking forward to it most of the other five items I bought.
