I need to install a tracker on my car - car is 20yrs old Acura. But I need it.

Is there a good product that will track the location of the car and is hard wired on the car!

What would be a product that I should go for?

It may be possible to deploy software that's harder to remove that can act as a device administrator / deploy mdm policies. Depends on the device. They likely can remove it or turn off location services.

You could try to get one of those obdii trackers / driving behavior monitors provided by your insurance company and make it clear that it's a condition of you paying the insurance. If premiums go up because of their driving they pay the increase.

You could have a policy that they'd better take an uber and never drive drunk and you'll pay for up to $100 / mo in uber rides but no cleaning fees and won't pay attorney fees or bail and if the car get's impounded you're taking it back. There's always things like zipcar.

The family sharing option in google maps provides them a notification that you've requested their location and if they don't deny your request it's shared after 10 minutes.

T-Mobile has a GPS "sync up" tracker device. It is around $6/month for the service. It does exactly what you describe. You'll need to be a little creative hard-wiring it though as it comes with a magnetic charger. But it can be on and charging at the same time so you can hardwire it.

I was looking and did not see any for $20/year can you post some links? I'd cancel this and get a cheaper one if available as I do not use it very often. My wife parked in DC once and forget where she parked is why I got this in case that happens again. It took her like 4 hours to find her car.

I have a friend that helps sell these (my disclaimer). They started out targeted for side-by-side owners (who knew those things quickly cost upwards of $20k). Here lately they have been selling for fleet vehicles, construction and delivery companies and other businesses.

They geofence, let you know when it starts moving, etc. He had a joke about geofencing around his wife's favorite store. When it beeped he would call her and have her run an important errand the other way... I tell it poorly.

I am not sure he has videos. It's pretty straightforward. Drop him an email (or give him a call) he's pretty helpful.
