Yeah and most are garbage in comparison. Sometimes you gotta pay for quality
Absolutely. There are few products where the quality gap is as wide as Oreo.
Hydrox, you fought a good fight
After decades of grocery shopping for just myself, i will generally buy the store brand to save money. However, i have realized i will pay more for the name brand over the cheaper generic / store brand, for these 3 items:
Oreoes
Lay's potato chips
Heinz ketchup

Oreos are like crack for me, 9 minimum and that's with self control. Seriously my favorite instant dessert. But considering how unhealthy they are with the information they give us on the surface alone, then combine that with all of the cheap, pesticide-laden ingredients they used to make them, I told myself to just stop buying.
Apologies for that turning into a soapbox, just saddens me when so much effort is gone to make foods toxic to us. Still love that we live in a free country and I could go buy a pack if I really needed a fix.

There's a reason hydrox stopped selling those at one point and they were probably the best imitation

Mexico is doesn't have the same quality and health control on food production as the US. ill pass.

So that's why oreos nowadays taste like chemicals and gross.
You have the timeline backwards here. Hydrox was the first chocolate sandwich cookie made by Sunshine Biscuits in 1908, then Nabisco copied it in 1912. Hydrox uses real vanilla and no HFCS, but Nabisco marketing was too much for Sunshine.
