Sony is still the leader in this space. Haven't cut corners like the other manufacturers. I have a 10 year old sony I'm wait to die so I can replace with something bigger, but it keeps running like the day I bought it.
Great deal, ironed out the 4k120 issue that X900H had last year, although there are less dimming zones in the J model. I think VRR runs without LD, so picture is washed out. Might have some restarts here and there / eARC can be finicky, but overall a great TV in this price range.

If you can't afford / don't want to spend more on OLED, I think this is the next best TV I would go with

Yes. Except that 200GC was only available for one day. This tv was removed from the GC promo on day 2.

I'm trying to find a suitable replacement for my X900E. It's got over 10,000 hours on the set now, and I've been hampered by firmware and OS issues now for years.

Normally I'd just let it ride until it dies, but we are now finding that any weekend daytime viewing is hampered by an inability to overcome a bright room. There are some settings that can be enabled that help the issue, but then have a noticeable backlight lag that drives us crazy.

We're now looking to replace this in the next year. Originally considered the Samsung QN90A, but I can't get past the lack of Dolby Vision, knowing that few platforms use HDR10+. So we started looking at Sony's instead, and it looks like we would need the X95 at a minimum to achieve a bump in brightness. Really disappointed to see the X90J doesn't even get as bright as my old tv from three-four generations ago.

Agreed. We bought a 55" Bravia display model from Walmart that was on clearance 9 years ago and it has been perfect.

For potential buyers - do note that, I Have an x90ch and have issue with hdmi & earc most of the time Frown Hopefully they addressed it in this new version.

this is my first Sony tv and I am bit disappointed. Picture quality is amazing but having to restart and change audio from sound bar to tv most of the time is a very infuriating experience Frown don't care much about VRR, so can't comment on that experience.

eArc worked for me 4-5 weeks and one fine day stopped. I had eArc as Auto but since I am only streaming so switched off eArc. I am no expert and casual listener so made no difference to me. I am sure a restart would have fixed it but I was OK with shortcut that worked for me.

Advice on how to get this price? I missed the one day $200 GC for >$1k purchases (for the dumbest reason too). The 1099.99 price with all state warranty expired 5/1, so I bought it yesterday (Sat delivery). Today it's 999.97 with all state warranty. I submitted a price adjustment request for the tv today. i got charged the $99 for the all state, but not the tv. Assuming that happens when the tv is shipped. How good is the price adjustment request versus simply cancelling and rebuying?

I had earc working fine on x90cj 65 in.I returned the 65 inch to get the 75 inch tv. With the 75, earc doesn't let me turn on the sound bar. I might try the previous hdmi cable I was using that worked on 65 inch. I might do a reset on tv if that fails.

Im the market and been reading up on a lot of comparisons between this TV and the HISENSE U8G. The latter is $899 at PC Richards. This one is $999 with the 5 year at costco.

Thoughts on which is the better TV? Seems the reviews lean towards the HISENSE

Performance wise probably the Hisense in most areas but the Sony with the Costco/Allstate warranty is the safer bet by a long shot. That's what I would get unless I had untreated windows directly behind as the Hisense has better reflection handling.
