It's a deal imo because atleast you have few months before the new nba 2k comes out.
If you also mainly play multiplayer, population is still intact as they migrate to the newer nba game when it comes out due to wanting to get ahead of the grind.

If you are not really looking to play it right away and have backlog of games, it will be cheaper in the near future as the nba season is about to end this June.

If you play multiplayer wouldn't the population not be intact since players are migrating to the newer game and leaving the older game? Also how long are the servers usually up after the newer game is released?

They keep the servers up for a long time, 2k21 servers are still up

Paid $10 like a month ago. Recently deleted from my PS4 and regret buying. Presentation is great but too many other issues. Couldn't even play the last time I tried because the camera was completely broken.
Going back to NBA Live 19 even if that has huge problems too.

Servers stay up a little over 2 years. For example, 2K20 came out in September 2019 and they took down its servers on New Years 2022. But since almost every game mode is connected to the internet once the servers go down the game is effectively dead and you can't continue playing certain saves anymore.
