I installed two pairs of these in the ceiling for Atmos duty and they've been perfectly fine. These were the only 8" cutout speakers I could find that had a variable angle tilt that I needed for my setup.

For reference, here's the frequency response captured by Audyssey:

Low frequency cutoff was around ~60 Hz.

60 Hz should be just fine for any speaker considering you're certainly running a sub in the setup.

Just a heads up these retail for $150-$200 normally. Not $699.99 as advertised on Best Buy's site

I'll be honest - if you have a time machine, in-ceiling speakers should be fairly low on your priority list.

For real. He should be using it for the $139 Dewalt drill and battery set from a few hours ago. 😬

The regular "sale" price is $169 and that is pretty fair considering the quality. At $99 this is pretty slick!

Just place an order for 2 pairs. Thanks OP. Seems like a great deal due to price and functionality.

I ordered the Sonance and back baffles and returned them. Went with the previous version of these last year after multiple discussions on AVS: https://rslspeakers.com/c34e-mkii...g-speaker/

You won't be sorry - people are putting these in $10k installs all day long.

I just ordered 2 pair. Anyone have thoughts on using these for fronts and rear?

Yep I have 4 as Atmos height channels. They are a bit bright but very capable. For 100 a pair they are a steal for height channels. For stereo listening I would look for a warmer speaker.

Great deal, in for a pair. Putting together a dedicated theater room. These should match up well to my 2nd hand in wall Sonance speakers. Will use these for my atmos ceiling speakers. Thanks OP!

I need some dual channel in ceilings as well as a pair of regular in ceiling speakers for a new home prewire. Wonder if these would work as a pair install in the kitchen?

I'm planning to power them with a sonos amp.

Pardon my ignorance with this I am a complete noob in this realm.
