Just an fyi, if you go to the reviews the most glaring issue is the trackpad. One of the reviewers mentioned that this laptop is known for having a faulty trackpad and that Dell never addressed it. More than likely why it's on sale.

i got one of those inspiron 16, awesome specs sexy design but trashy touchpad/trackpad. It worked for a week then kept getting stuck. I had no time to worry about getting it fixed under warranty so I just returned the laptop and went with different brand all together since I assumed all dell would be having same issue.

I'm XPS 15 9550 user, and the machine started to lag recently. Having searched for a while, can any user tell me the made quality for inspiron 16 line? Another issue is the CPU. I'd prefer AMD 5000/6000 CPU since Intel 11th is inferior and 12th is power monster, but dell just won't make them.

I have a similar model, same processor better gpu/ssd from last year, terrible build quality and the trackpad is utter trash, even after replacing the motherboard 2x and the trackpad once… plus the dell bloatware that turns the computer on randomly throughout the day, even while hibernating

How is dell's support these days?

I'm super tempted, like the spec and i'm mostly a mouse user anyway so it wouldn't be the end of the world if the trackpad was temperamental. Was thinking about tacking the 4 yrs premium support on it so they'd come to my house any time it needed fixed. I know that 15 yrs ago that service was awesome.

I bought this one a few months back but returned it because of bad track pad. It is little on the heavier side. Also the fan used to come on very frequently. The deal breaker was the track pad.

Why would you assume that? You actually think Dell uses the same trackpad part on all their laptops? LMAO

Had this but returned it. Screen is nice but the colors don't "pop". The track pad was fine until the day I decided to return it then started acting up. A little chunky. A better buy would actually be the Inspiron 17 2-n-1. The screen looks better and it's thinner.

The title of this thread is correct to only mention Windows 11, but this line on the product page gave me hope...

Operating System
Available with Windows 11 or Windows 10.
I don't see any way to actually choose Windows 10, though. I have a an Inspiron 7506 2n1 from last year that I love, so I'm not in the market right now, but I'm curious and cautious about devices going forward. I have Windows 11 on an older laptop and the unnecessary changes are too disruptive for me, so I'd prefer to stay on Windows 10 as much as possible.

Does anyone have any experience with installing Windows 10 on a device that comes with Windows 11 pre-installed? Is this something we should be worried about or is this still a simple enough process? I haven't installed a fresh OS in a few years.

That is a very good price for a Windows laptop. If I haven't just spent $4300 on a M1 MacBook Max, I would consider that. Then again, I wouldn't make money with it and $850 is expensive just to surf Facebook/SlickDeals. I need a use case for that.
With 4300, don't compare macbook against this.

With that much you can buy 4 of these for each of your bathroom or kid.

I have this model. No issues with it and the build quality is pretty nice. The fan can be a little loud but that's my only complaint. I often use a mouse but the trackpad has worked fine whenever I have used it. A lot of computing power for this price, and the 16:10 screen is very nice compared to 16:9 screens IMO.
