Time to live out my dream as an ice cream man!
I used one of these for a few months and it died, got a replacement from Amazon and it died in a month. The battery usage was insanely bad as well.

Ended up finding a older Dometic CombiCool portable fridge that runs on AC/DC/LPgas. At over 30 years old it runs for days on small propane gas bottles when I park and runs off the cars power as I drive.
I've had the 85 qt Whynter in my sprinter for 5 years now. Granted it's not dual zone, but the temp can be set for either fridge or freezer. It has been running on a solar charged 200ah 12VDC battery the entire time and it has worked flawlessly. Would absolutely buy again without hesitation.

Reviews don't look too well. Can anybody else chime in on this brand?

Their portable AC units are sold at Home Depot or Lowe's and seemed good. I was looking at the portable AC units within the past 4-5 days because our home AC was acting up & we were having to wait for the HVAC repair guy and I don't wanna be hot so I bought us a new portable AC. I was going to purchase this brand's portable AC but ultimately went with a different brand. I did not pass because of poor quality, instead it was due to availability & the purchased model having WiFi capabilities. I was going to drop $800 and had no qualms doing so.

Also of note: I buy the extended warranty on all items I purchase because I would rather be covered in the event the item fails…it's saved me numerous times.

One time was after about 14 months of owning our 75" DLP HDTV I heard a horrible sound which was a lot of glass breaking. The TV had gotten misaligned and all the glass mirrors within the TV basically broke in a domino effect. Cost me $0 out of pocket (except the initial cost of the extended warranty).
That's quite a reach back to justify extended warranty's on everything (I actually hang in the opposite side where I almost never buy one, although several of my cards add it already for free). Anyone under 30 probably has no clue what a DLP TV even is haha.

Here's the thing, for half that price you can get a mini fridge with a good freezer and twice the capacity. And if you live in an rv or bus, they make 12v mid-sized refrigerators for the same price

Not a positive experience here. Perhaps these fridges last longer when they are constantly used but I let mine sit for months in between uses and only got one good use out of them. Even though I live next to Whynter, cost of replacing the compressor makes no sense. Might as well buy a new fridge from Costco with warranty. Definitely sticking with dometic for my next fridge from REI.

Here's the thing, yes you can get a mini refrigerator but you they are not 12v and test the small size is important

I read the reviews as well and would rather pay more for a company that stands behind the product

I had to make I wasn't high... But yeah, this guy 100% went off rails on a total different type of product

In contrast to the other input I see here, I have not had a single hiccup with this exact model in the 5 years I have owned it. I have used it as a long distance cooler on 12v (it takes its toll on the automotive battery), as an overflow fridge/freezer on 120v, and loaned it to friends as an emergency fridge several times.

From the images, it seems as though there are several external variations (handles, latches, and control panel) so I wonder if they also have made internal variations under the same model number.
