It is a Sellita-based Caliber FC-303. Not a bad deal really with a sapphire crystal and that movement, but it's the way low-end of Frederique Constant's range and the sketchy Invicta like MSRP vs selling price delta gives me pause. Also, the band is not impresssive at all for a puportedly "$1500 MSRP" watch.

Ashford usually dumps closeouts and overstock from large retailers and dealers and there are deals to be had. I'm guessing the small size impacted the selling appeal at retailers. I've bought tons of stuff from Ashford, but I'm going to give this puppy a pass. .

For each his own, mech or auto watch collectors do so for variety of reasons, mine being to hold and own something which precisely measures time but is only made with wheels and gears and a great testament of our mechanical engineering progress, lasts a lifetime even further if bequeathed.. also works with rotor power or hand wound power, reducing a lot of electronic waste like good for nothing after three years junk which are smart watches.. you can argue smart watches are testament of electronics progress, yes, they will never last as long as these and work off a rock and electricity.. again, to each his own..

How is the battery holding up after 3 years? That's my only concern. Does it make it through an entire day?

Excellent watch for the dollar. Even at MSRP it is a decent watch. At this sale price, unless you want to go for a used Seiko Auto or a Chinese seagull, you can't find much better. MAYBE a Hamilton if you are ok playing the ETA game.

Apple Watch can't do anything without battery. Automatic watch will just keep on going and going and going and going… and it does what a watch is supposed to do - tell time.

Curius, what exactly are you referring to by the "ETA game"?

Quality wise, I'd say Sellita and ETA are interchangable, while ETA is probably more respected.

Every time I see anyone wearing a smart watch with a suit or evening dress I cringe.

Smartwatches are the sweatshirt + sweatpants of the watch world. They're more comfortable, easier to get on, easier to produce, cheaper, have more pockets, and a hood feature when cold. Almost better than formal wear in everyway.

You're likely not headed to an office, or nice dinner with sweatpants on.
