I really wanted a KQI3 Pro. This is a decent price. I wanted this but NUI charges tax for CA. The only state it looks like since its imported there. I ended up getting segway ninebot max g30p for not much more for $749 through wellbots. Its still on sale w/coupon. Besides the close price, the problem i have with NIU is that there are no parts for there scooters yet and the customer support is lacking even though it has a 2 year warranty which is nice. There Facebook group kept me away because there was a decent amount of complaints either about that the poor support or no availability to parts.

You made the right choice. All segway scooters have huge aftermarket and oem parts available for them and you'll be able to keep it on the road much longer than a scooter you can't get parts for.

The video reviews show some flaws, but overall everybody recommends it.
I'm interested in a commuter electric scooter that can reach 20mph or more. Commute is 2 miles and 100% flat. This scooter seems ok, but the price tag seems a little too high for my needs, and the fact that the motor only activates when you reach 3mph or more seems very annoying.
Any suggestions?

Hello! It is a feature for safety, 4mph simply means customers need to kick once at the start and the motor will take over. With this feature, the scooter won't roar to 20mph if you hit the throttle accidentally. If you strongly dislike it, this can be turned off in the app.

I finally received the scooter. However, there is no way to disable e-save mode. I tried every possible version of the app, I rode over 3 miles and the tutorial screen no matter what, never shows up. Please refer to this reddit thread.

Is it not getting you out of nanny mode, or keeping it in esave mode? The former requires you to do the ride with the app, after watching the tutorial (thankfully only once). For the latter, just tap the dash button. It toggles esave mode.
