Kinda misleading title. It cannot be 1049 if you can't apply the shop card to the order.

Question regarding upgrades as I read related comments here often... it's safe to assume the warranty would likely then be void? Costco doubles the manufacture warranty (2 years) and using their credit card adds another year (3 total), which is why I favor Costco. Just wondering how or if it's even possible to assure the warranty isn't jeopardized as it's getting difficult to hide your tracks, so to speak. TIA!

Adding RAM and additional hard drives are usually super easy upgrades to do that only involve taking out a screw or two. I've been doing it for years and not had a warranty issue.

This is a glossy screen.

I always buy matte if I'm going to be doing work on a laptop.

However, I prefer glossy for the extra color pop and sharpness. I find that usually a slight screen tilt up or down and/or a slight angling of the laptop eliminates all reflection. Obviously you are screwed, daywalker, if you try to compute outside in the sun.

On the other hand, the black level is not that great. On the other, other hand, there have been Macs with similar black levels and nobody complained. It matters to me because I'm one of those people that stream their life away.

damn i was kinda holding out for a deal on a hp spectre but this is mighty tempting. biggest cons i have against the z16 is the small mousepad, low battery life, no charging thru usb-c but i think i could live with that

16 gb ram and 1 tb ssd is more than enough for me

for the costco extended warranty, would we be dealing with costco directly or MSI?

Unfortunately, most manufacturers put a sticker or something similar over a screw or area on the bottom of the laptop that says opening it voids the warranty. It's not like the old days, of a couple of years ago.🙄 I think it's ridiculous to void a warranty because you make an upgrade. You certainly don't want to upgrade anything during the return period of the laptop too, as many stores have a policy that if you open it you bought it. I'm not sure about COSTCO, which would be my first choice of where to buy anything.
