Lots of problems with these bulbs. Talked to store manager when I went yesterday and said they have clearance in store for this reason, but can't speak for what Costco.com does.
These deals are subsidized by local utilities. The location of OP is required for folks to partake in the deal.
Note that this is not a clearance price
Most LED bulbs deals are subsidized by local utility companies. So this is YMMV price. We have been using Feit's flood light LED bulbs at church for over 10 years. They have gone through at least 3 generations of it. The current ones are much lighter than the first generation ones. That have all been very reliable. Of the around 50 fixtures, we have only replace a couple of them in the last 10 years or so. Of course, we only use them for around 10 hours per week on dimmers, which may explain the long time of them. I also had 4 of them installed at home that I used for near 10 years without any problem but switched to those flat panel recess LED fixtures a few years ago.
I am about to return a $4.99 4x100w FEIT LED pack and a $3.99 6x60w FEIT LED pack. I started using a 60w and within a day I noticed a very slight pulsing of the light level. I screwed in an old CFL and the light output was normal (ie steady) so it's not the lamp. I'm bummed but I'll keep using up my old CFLs and in a few years try LEDs again.
I purchased many feit led bulbs from Costco in the past. They don't last more than a year. I bought often on deal at $0.99 from Costco. I switched to Philips led since then & it is worth paying for Philips. I would recommend to stay away from feit led bulbs.
I bought some of the color-changing LEDs from FEIT. The main issue is for some reason they randomly go into pairing mode on lights that have multiple switches. Very annoying because they blink and you can't use the lights. Dealbreaker for me since I wanted to use them in areas that had multiple switches.
Be sure to keep your ladder out and handy. Feit bulbs are from my experience the worst of all. They constantly burn out. In fact, I think they use components that degrade over time whether they're used or not. I had a box with some left over bulbs, when the bulbs from that same box burned out (after only about 1 year) I put in the bulbs from that old box and none of the bulbs lasted more than 3 weeks. This is pure junk for the landfill.
On the other extreme end, none of my Phillips bulbs have failed, many of which have been in use for 6-7 years now. I've had a few Sylvania bulbs fail, but they do seem much more reliable than Feit. EcoSmart seems to be comparable to Sylvania. Obviously my sample size is small, but I've never been frustrated with LED bulbs except for Feit bulbs. Will never buy Feit bulbs again, having to pull out my ladder constantly was just too annoying for the tiny amount of savings compared to other brands.
