Furnace and AC unit are coming up on 20yrs old, buying this as an insurance policy in case the AC goes out mid-summer. HVAC contractors are charging ridiculous amounts for replacement systems right now, trying to milk the "supply chain" issues for all its worth.

This price is a steal. Well worth it as I paid 700 for it 2 year ago with no complaints

Anyone know if this is available in warehouse for a cheaper price? If so, what's the price?

In for two. This is a great price, was waiting on it. It's single hose, but efficiency of dual vs single hose is no longer dramatic these days. Important part is it's a dual inverter, which blows away (pun intended) anything else at this price point.

Just had one of my units stop working on a Friday. Tech won't come until Tuesday.. Have a TCL one hose I got from Walmart 2 years ago. It's currently 95F during day and 80s at night. While the unit won't cool my house, it does cool my bedroom to a comfortable temp to sleep in. Very glad I had one.

Single hose units only work so well. In general you're pulling in air from the conditioned space where the air conditioner sits, pushing the cold/conditioned air back into the space and moving the hot exhaust air through the hose out of the home. This has the effect of creating negative pressure inside your home, where that exhaust air is naturally replaced with outside air through all the gaps/cracks in windows, doors, etc. So you're effectively replacing really hot air (exhaust) with hot air (outside air) continuously.

Yes, you'll cool the room, but slowly and very expensively since this will have to run a lot more often than a dual hose unit. Less running hours = lower electricity bills.

This (LP1022FVSM) does appear to be the same unit as the one Wirecutter suggests (LP1419IVSM) that is going for ~$700 elsewhere right now. Just with a different model number. The same manual lists both model numbers.

What is Costco's return policy on Potable AC's? Is it 90days like all other electronics?

I ordered 2 last week. The problem was the delivery. I found them on their side, stacked on top of each other. One box had a giant tear through the middle and an extra piece (? filter) fell out as I was bringing it into the house. You could easily reach in and touch the air conditioner. The other box also looked pretty worn. It was obvious these were not handled carefully at all. I returned them without opening (I actually taped up the tear for them). For the price, the delivery simply needs to be better.

I ordered 2 Midea Duos from Amazon instead and selected the option to have it delivered into the house to a room of my choice (this option actually includes up to the second floor). It cost $20 more which was worth it for me. I supervised the delivery (you do have to be home for it) and the delivery guys did a good job. I know this Costco deal is cheaper since it is on sale but beware the delivery. I'm sure it's not limited to just Costco so people may want to consider this delivery option from Amazon.
