If anyone takes his advice and doesn't need the included pump, the pool only is available for $147 from Amazon [amazon.com]

6FT 2 here and it's actually really enjoyable, the kids love it and even for me to float around it's actually really nice, this pump sucks though so get a bigger pump.

Probably deep enough to cool off in on a hot day but you're not exactly doing laps in it.

I've had the 10' prism frame version of this pool for 4 years now. The liner is faded but in good shape otherwise. I've had to replace a few of the frame pieces but they're fairly cheap on the intex site. The #1 thing you'll need to do is replace the filter. The included one is barely enough to circulate the water. I bought the 1000gph intex filter which ended up being garbage. I now have this one and it's strong enough to run the surface skimmer. Also upgraded all of the hoses and fittings to 1.5".
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088TC3C6C

30" is a good depth for small kids and deep enough for me (6'1") to sit and float in. The small size is easy to clean and takes barely any chlorine compared to my old inground pool.
Is the skimmer included or do you have to purchase that separately as well? Other than the skimmer and hoses/fittings, is there anything else needed?

Skimmer is seperate. Intex Deluxe Wall Mount Surface Skimmer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00178IMPO/

2 1.5" x 3' hoses
2 gate valves
1 1.5" outlet with 1500gph jet, gasket, and locking collar
1 1.5" inlet w/ gasket and locking collar (the set was sold out so I bought individual parts)
Short piece of 1" pvc and cap. Jam this in the 2nd inlet that won't be used any more. You'll also need to cut the liner to fit the bigger hose.

These walls prone to tearing/punctures? I have two large dogs 70-80lbs if one jumps on the outside of the pool will the nails rip it?

Why not get the 10ft at Walmart for half the price?

Because Walmart's is frameless; not a good one

I have the 10ft version and just set it up for year #2. We live in AZ and the other fully inflatable version- while still fun and cheap- did not even last a whole summer. Also because the "walls" of the inflatable one bow out- it doesn't feel as big.

This model in the op is solid. Agree on the filter- we got the bigger Amazon one pp posted. Fitting a family of five is not very relaxing. But I love a good float and dip in it- 30" of water goes far above one's knees.

Biggest tip is to stay on top of your chemicals from the start! If you don't plus it up at time of filling it can get ugly quick.

I actually own this and it lasted me a couple of years, but it has now developed a small leak somewhere and I'm looking to change it out to something more sturdy.

Where did you place this? On the grass? I currently have a trampoline on the grass and want to place this in another part of our backyard that has a crushed granite layer. How would the bottom of this do with that type of underlayer?

Use sands and form tiles at the bottom for protection.

Here is KOHL's product link:
https://www.kohls.com/product/prd...d=29519382

Guys, I think this KOHL offer is a better deal. Here is why:
1. it is prism frame vs plain steel frame.
// " the prism rods are oval, while the other has round poles, also the prism liner outside is gray, while the metal is blue."
// "prism pools are more durable thanks to their improved frame pillars and innovative T-joints that connect all tubes"
2. It comes with a cover ($20+ value) while the metal one does NOT.
3. it does have $50 kohl's cash.
//understand it is not $50 cash, but hey at least worth $25, will you?
4. The manufacturer site give $30 more MSRP price for prism type:
Metal Frame 12' x 30" Above Ground Pool w/ Filter Pump
SKU: 28211EH
MSRP: $230
https://intexcorp.com/products/ab...-pool-set/

Prism Frame™ 12' x 30" Above Ground Pool w/ Filter Pump
SKU:26711EH
MSRP: $260
https://intexcorp.com/products/ab...-pool-set/

I believe both pumps are equally suck though.

Will be until it has had time to warm up from the summer heat. Once it gets to ambient outside temps probably won't be so great until you lay down in it and stand up and any breeze or evaporation would be a great cooling effect. Otherwise the idea of jumping in 90+ degree water when it's 90+ degrees outside would be a little offputting.
I live in Michigan sadly my only problem is getting my pool warm LOL

Make sure the area you plan to put this is almost perfectly level.
