Got thousands invested in Nanoleaf products. They are awesome for the most part, but they certainly have their issues. This is a great price for a small starter kit! Check out the Nanoleaf sub-Reddit for lots of info/ideas/etc.

Note: their products only work on 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi.

Same price at amazon and Nanoleaf store.

Nobody should, right now, be buying the 10 pack mini triangles expansion kit when two of these 5 packs include a controller and a power supply....same price.

Also have too much invested but they are super cool, homekit, desktop app, iOS apps, VR on the iOS apps to display your build on your actual wall/ceiling to see if it fits.

Here's a weird thing I learned, and this is not a joke. When I was gradually adding more panels to my existing wall system the added panels stayed white. I thought they were broken. I banged a little hard right where the connectors were (that I know/thought were fully seated) and this fixed the problems, several times over several months as my addiction grew. 60 panels/shapes for my office wall, I might be done, I might not. :-) No problems of any kind since then...

2.4GHz b/g/n is correct. Guessing the 2.5GHz was just a typo on his part.

That being said, prepare to spend hundreds, if not thousands, to make this product actually shine, kind of akin to the Hue ecosystem of products. The triangles are rather small, and you will want a good amount of them. At the very least you would want to pick up a 10-pk expansion of the mini-triangles to go with this, which is $120 not on sale. To make it really pop, you will want to throw in some other shapes (large triangles / hexagons) where you can truly make some interesting designs.

I highly recommend checking out the manufacturers own site (where these are also on sale for the same price as Amazon/Best Buy) and check out some of their designs or example ideas. They sell some as bundles so you can get all the panel pieces you need to create some designs that they show off (of course you can still customize if you like). They also have larger bundles (25 panels or 50 panels) available, that I don't believe you can get at Amazon / Best Buy.

You can also check out many of their other product lines to see what would work best for you in your home. But as I said, just this starter kit for $60 isn't going to get you very far at all, and if you're not interested in picking some expansions with it, I think there are other products out there in the $60 price range which would give you a much better experience without needing to buy additional kits (such as RGBIC light strips, etc).

Ill add to these comments and suggest watching eBay. I brought a majority of my hundreds of panels off eBay for WAY less than retail or any deals from resellers I have ever seen. Also, if it helps, Home Depot sells some of their products which can sometimes bring down the costs using HD coupons.

Been trying to tell my 30 full size triangle set for a bit. I love their items but once I went Custom RGB builds, these lost my interest. If you dont want to build, Nanoleafs are great products

Wonder if anyone has tried a cheaper alternative to these. They are cool and I want some but they are too expensive imo.
