I told my wife that its fine...just means I give Citi less of my business. Citi has been equivalent to Comcast support for me...making me fight for things I should get. Amex gives me no issue when they make and error and fix it.
I mean...if you only go to BP absolutely try for it...just watch it like and hawk and don't set your hopes on it. Here BP is usually significantly more expensive for fuel so I won't pay for a cost increase in the hopes of getting the $10 credit.
