UPDATE: They dropped the double stacking 15% discounts. Now it only has one 15% off discount, making it $222.24 after the $20 off coupon.

Pool chlorine costs are way up this year. Typically for pool shock I use one with 73% available chlorine. Right now the best price I found on a 50 lbs bucket is $284.99. I ran across a deal for In The Swim branded shock with 68% available chlorine for $185.90. Even with the lower chlorine content, I'm giving it a try. I've used In The Swim 3" stabilized tablets before without complaint.

The regular price is $284.99. Currently they have 15% off In The Swim pool shock and 15% off calcium hypochlorite pool shock. The product page will show the price $242.24 (15% off). But when you add it to the cart it will show $205.90 (stacking both 15% off). Then apply the coupon code I8AFFU200 for $20 off $200 for a total $185.90. Free shipping is included.

Until these absurd chlorine tablets come back down to a reasonable price, we're just using more liquid chlorine. A little more work but a fraction of the price.

Yes definitely but at least our pool place has a "chlorine card" which gets us a free one for every 5 so that helps a bit. I did really like the convenience of the tabs but whew these prices!

Same. Used to buy the buckets at Costco when it goes on sale for supplementing. I've been running straight liquid since 2021 (and have been using tfp method which is mainly liquid chlorine for over 10 years) and it doesn't add CYA. Less than 190 is a deal. But I will wait till they come back to full production capacity.

you just gently pour it in and around the perimeter of your pool while the filter is running. Easy! Just don't splash it on your clothes unless you want them tie dyed :-)

Agreed and I usually do it after sun down because sunlight burns up the chlorine fast. Usually 1 or twice a week depending on pool use.

you don't need to even pour it around the perimeter, just go to your jet while its on in the deep end and pour it in front of it. if you pour the bottle out in about 15 seconds, that's good enuf

liquid chlorine? so long as its only chlorine and doesn't have any additives and the date is recent (i.e. not stock from last year) you are fine. you'll typcially see it in 10% or 12.5% concentration.

troublefreepool.com has a thread where they track cheapest places to find it in each state...

That would be great here in Florida I am paying well over $6 for 2.5 gal and that is the lowest I can find.

Suggest getting a good pool test kit and get away from these tabs and use liquid chlorine. It really helped to get my pool maintenance so much easier
