I just came back from Apple store and traded in one of my iPhone 11. They now run smart diagnostics to check the trade in and everything checked out normal. So yeah may be a few people get junk phones but for the majority of folks here the phones have remaining apple warranty so don't make sweeping statements that there is no warranty.

There are way to check iPhone for non genuine parts but I have stopped wasting my time with dumbasses here because they will keep doing stupid shit no matter how much you try to educate them. Let them think that their warranty is void
You clearly have no idea what you're talking about and just refuse to listen to actual fact which is clearly stated in writing. The refurbishers clone the hardware identifiers, so they don't show up as non-OEM parts with the typical checks. Apple even called them "counterfeit parts" because of the cloned IDs, although that's definitely an exaggeration. It was simply done to bypass the ridiculous restrictions Apple tries to put on non-OEM parts. At any rate, it's not something that will be obvious until the phone is cracked open and they recognize clearly non-Apple parts. They're not going to do that on trade-ins. They'll just reject it it they suspect something is amiss, but most will glide by easily through that process, since it's mostly superficial and they're definitely not opening anything up

Apple smart diagnostics is not your average typical check. It will tell you if the phone has non-oem parts. Try it. Buy a used iPhone from eBay with non oem screen and try trading it at an apple store. See how that goes for you.

You my friend are clearly suffering from The Dunning-Kruger Effect

And cloning the hardware identifiers is a step beyond the typical workarounds, which is why Apple went so far as to call them "counterfeit parts". Deny facts and clear written terms all you like, but the information is out there for those who may actually be affected by the lack of a warranty.

Trade in right now is $320 if you buy a new phone. I got the iPhone 13 but i will return it in a few days and pocket the $320 cash. I will keep my other iPhone 11 for now.

Phone came looking like-new pretty much with limited warranty until August 2022. Maximum battery capacity is at 100% too. A win!

Got both today. Both look new, all features work and the batteries were at 0% and needed to charge a bit before activation. Activated both, got new numbers, texted "unlock" to 611611 and was told both will be automatically unlocked on 7/18/22. Both came with a USB C to lightning cable. They will now sit around until unlocked for use on TMO.

You enter the IMEI on sickw dot com (choose FREE BASIC APPLE INFO in the dropdown).

edit: sorry, the best way it to just look under iOS Settings->General->About

I got one of the XRs from TW that had been messed with. Screen color was off a bit, battery had been replaced, and original water damage indicator was MISSING. T-Mobile employee caught the missing damage indicator (its visible through the sim slot) and refused it for trade in. I had to take it to a local cell phone shop to have a new sim tray installed which is the only way to get a water damage indicator, can't buy just a sticker. $60.

So there is definitely some risk and caution due, for these TW refurbished phones. I still made out ok but you don't know what you're going to get.

Yeah, I saw someone in a previous thread mention getting a trade rejected at a Best Buy for a missing water damage indicator as well, but he took it to another store and traded it without a problem. Would definitely recommend trying another place if run into an issue trading … it will depend on the individual rep sometimes and many don't check nearly as carefully.

What is the T-mobile trade in offer that you were seeking, BTW?

Are you sure they will let you pocket the cash or it will be gift card or credit to your account for future purchases? Cash would be nice.
