Only 60 day service required for unlocking.
For Customers with Apple devices: Total Wireless will automatically unlock the device when it becomes eligible for unlocking. For all Apple devices activated with Total Wireless prior to November 23, 2021, the device will be automatically unlocked after twelve (12) months of active Total Wireless Service. For Apple devices activated with new Total Wireless Service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the device will be automatically unlocked sixty (60) days after activation in the absence of an indication of fraud.
Use code CART15 for additional 15% off.

From previous TW thread: 2nd month service is not required for unlocking.
It's locked to total wireless for 60 days. Activate but you don't need to pay 2nd month. Bought multiple xr previously. Good deal. Thank op. T C B has 12% too.

Anyone with a bit computer know-how can get around it.
I won't go into detail but, just know there's 2 working 15% coupons, may15off and usi15.
That should get you 2 phones at 15% off.
It wouldn't let me go incognito, and it wouldn't sign me out of my account. I finally moved to a different browser, different email, but I'm not positive the CB tracked.

What I did was use a incognito browser, login to R10 site search for total wireless, and buy it through there, worked 100% each time. CB added.

Edit: you can always go back and add missing CB, most of the time it will work at least R10 is good about it.

Does anyone know if this phone will still unlock after 60 days if I don't replace the SIM card? It seems like everything is good on total wireless side but I'm not sure if it will receive the unlock without ever connecting to the network. Obviously I can't text 611611 without service. I know the SIM is only $1 but I'll still have to deal with the frustration of working with total wireless support.
Yes it will unlock, you just won't be able to use it. Swapping the SIM might mess up the unlock timer associated with phone.

I activated the Iphone 11 using the sim card, and transferred my number, confirmed it worked and then put the total wireless SIM into my pixel 4a and have been using the service that way. It has been 33 days and I was curious about the unlocking status so I put the sim card back into the Iphone 11 and texted "unlock" to 611611 and reply was I was using my own device. So I chatted with Total Wireless support and they said they could tell the sim was only active for a few hours and that I need to use it for 60 days. I said I have been using the SIM card just didn't say where. They said to contact unlocking department. Do I actually need to use the SIM card in the Iphone 11 to get it to unlock?

You don't need to constantly use the sim in the original phone but you should not have use the sim on the other phone. TW binds their sim to the phone. If you go to your online account you can see which imei the sim is bind to now.
Not really sure if it will unlock or not anymore.

Thank you, I didn't know if it would track when incognito. I used TCB, for 12% or $30 over $150.

Received second one today, the activation process is surprisingly smooth.

I want to keep one for myself and trade one later. Not sure which one to keep, both look new to me, maybe based on limited warrenty date? One is on 09/22, one is on 3/23. Or it doesn't matter?

If they look and feel identical, I would keep the newer one. Should have better battery life in addition to longer usable warranty on apple parts (although the warranty part has been hotly debated in this thread). Glad you were able to get activated!

if it came with the original plastic protector pull tab I'd definitely keep that one. This is a good indicator the screen is original and is likely a low use customer return and having any refurbishing done.

Also check if the white water indicator sticker is there under the A2111 model in the sim card slot. (some aftermarket screens lack it but some have it?)

if both look the same then keep the 3/23 one if it were me.
