Menards rebate checks never expire, and you can use them on anything in the store.

Also, you the customer has to pay the sales tax separately.
...
You 100% can't post a taxless receipt here because it doesn't exist and your statements are clearly meant to deceive rather than just display your ignorance.
Since Menards ~335 stores are only in about 25% of the states and probably an order of magnitude less than that in U.S. population served, it's not considered a store with deals for all. Especially since they tack on a $2.80 "Processing fee" if you order online not to mention actual shipping fees on top of that. Plus, while you can earn rebates for online only shipped orders, you cannot redeem them online, only in store. So, if you have no store to use the rebate, what's the "value" in the rebate being offered anyway?
That makes many deals simply worthless to the vast majority of people here and why they are usually not well promoted; for right or wrong. I could say the same everytime a Fred Meyer , IKEA, Meijer, Nebraska Furniture Mart or AAFES deal is posted, but apparently they are deemed more worthy even if I cannot access one within 600 or more miles, if at all.
In this case, a $1.99 after rebate product will actually cost someone without a local store around $20; after the inability to use the rebate received, plus the near $3 online ordering processing fee, plus the actual shipping fees. That's why you see so much negativity on most Menards deals. And I point this out being in an area with 2 Menards locally and used to shop there weekly and do appreciate their deals + rebates, and actually did buy this item myself yesterday.
Yes their perpetual 11% rebate crap for the last 2+ years could be done with, but that's what changed me from a weekly shopper to a every 4-6 week shopper now, only when they have a really good deal like these bits. But I have never had a problem sending in rebates up to 8 months after they were supposed to be sent, plus I am still using rebate checks I received at the start of 2020 since I shop there a lot less now. People should stop spreading lies about their rebates confusing people.
There is a 10 plus year old thread in the Drugstore/Grocery/Coupons forum here that has most Menards deals posted if you want to keep up that way. Most of their deals never make it to hot deals for the above reasons:
https://slickdeals.net/e/3140072-menards-deal-thread-far-rebate-and-sale-discussion-thread
I even stated I purchased this item yesterday and appreciate the deals and their rebates; and are upset that others are spreading lies about their rebate program and for some reason use that as the main reason to not like Menards deals, vs. some of the more valid reasons they are not as welcome here it seems.
I also linked to the other main Menards thread that has most deals posted where you will find others that also enjoy shopping there because they have one in close proximity to them like us.
It's confusing, yes, but accurate.
That being said, thanks for posting the deal. Thumbs up. I'm in for one.
I mean check this comment out saying it probably was $21 originally.
I mean I am looking at the price line right now.
"$11
$20.99After Mail-In Rebates + Free Pickup"Striking out $21 is what the majority of people complain about from places like Kohls, HarborFreight, or DirectToolsOutlet (ex 'they jack the price up and discount heavily as a sale to make it seem like you are are getting a deal). It's literally "EVERYDAY LOW PRICE$11.99" & "SALE PRICE Good Through 5/21/22 $10.99" But slick deals mod say its only $11 AFTER THE MAIL IN REBATE.
That 100% should read
"
$20.99$11 + $9 Mail-In Rebate + Free Pickup"Now that's accurate as you all say, but that does not look tempting at all, and people will think they are actually spending the $21, so they post it more misleading in the name of attractiveness.
Also, wow It's free pickup as long as you go to the store, find it on the shelf, and pick it up. Otherwise Menards charges a picking fee if your order online and pick it up in the store.
"
Merchandise Subtotal:$10.99
Processing Fees: Processing Fees Information$1.40
Pretax Subtotal$12.39
"
So yeah I think they butchered this. There is nothing wrong with "
$11.99$1.99 After Mail-In Rebate (In Store Only)"Again no one is paying $21 so after rebate the adjusted price you pay is $11. I mean they don't do this crap for purchases with a giftcard, like the Target Posts. EX
https://slickdeals.net/f/15788071-target-buy-200-in-airbnb-gift-cards-get-25-target-gift-card-email-delivery-200-free-shipping
So educate me and everyone else, why does that not say "$200
$225+ Free Shipping"? I thought they were going for consistency here. Rebate, giftcard, what's the difference when I can only spend it at that specific store (besides the obvious forms to fill out and wait to get)? Once you have them they work the same way, and have a value only at that store. In the name of consistency just post it the same as that for the price line.
"$11
$12(In Store Only)"And leave the $9 in-store Merchandise Credit in the title like it is. At least then it matches the other posts and does not make it seem like you are getting a $21 item for less.
P.S. DTO and HF don't move their prices around before a sale, it's just what commenters on SD say make them angry. I threw them in as an example posters will relate to, so they understand why this get's people upset about being misleading. HF is misleading on a whole other level, but DTO leaves a price changed after they raise them, and commenters accuse of price changing when the sales price changes, then confuse factory blemished with refurbed tools (it's just a mess). Use bookmarks and edit their names with the non sales price people!

Todd sure gave that DeWalt impact a workout with over a thousand deck screws. In the freezer with a fan.... lol .... Anyway, "held up great" is subjective with only the Torx used in the test.
==============
I have to agree...
Is this set worth $2 after all is done with in store rebates? Perhaps if you shop there, but not a set that would hold up, nor would I want to fight with the poor release of the Torx all day that slows down production.
With a hardness of 6, don't expect the Masterforce Phillips, or really, even the Torx to hold up as well as say, Makita, Milwaukee, DeWalt, etc., that had a hardness of 9. When a bit slips, it wears on the bit and more or less destroys the screw head. You may get the screw/anchor in, but if exposed it will look crappy.
From the box stores, it would be the better Makita, then Milwaukee for me. DeWalt is fine for Torx, but not Phillips or straight. Bauer is hard enough with also a 9, but just not quite right to fit snugly. The best of the best for fit and longevity is the made in USA Apex that are getting hard to find.

Oh, it is there under "Original Post" towards the bottom left. When a Mod edits a post as they do most of them, the original post gets moved out of sight. It can be confusing when this happens in the middle of comments, as in 'what are they talking about?' You have to open the 'Original Post.'
Between that and having posts deleted where Amazon is doing the shipping, but not an approved seller that is often a private list not available to us peons, I no longer waste my time and leave the deals to be posted to those that get paid to do it. A lot of times, the real deals are found in the comments and not the actual posting, but even those are declining.
Not as hard of a test as PF with their monster deck screws, but the bits held up fine driving the 2" #8.
Can't find how to post pics from mobile (I know I've done it before), but the bit looks like it has maybe one more bucket of life left in it.
Unless they are building a monster deck, I imagine most homeowners will never drive this many T20s in a lifetime.
$2 is a bargain, just for the Torx bits alone
