Toaster costing as much as a budget 4K tv, lol. Although there are $300 rice cookers, blenders, mixers, etc so I guess that's fair

So I actually own this thing. It was part of some strange wedding gift that I definitely didn't ask for Stick Out Tongue I know this is mostly a Slickdeals meme but here's my two cents:

If you don't have access to something like Japanese milk bread, there's really no point in buying this. It's not going to work any magic on your Wonder-bread. If you can get milk bread, the topped toasts this thing makes are great. It sorta does a combination of direct heat (toasting the bottom of the bread), keeping the moisture in the bread from escaping and steaming the bread, and then using indirect heat on the top to cook toppings (like an egg). It also has a frozen setting (which I haven't tested) so you can reheat the bread directly from frozen.

I absolutely don't think it's worth this price unless you live for this style of bread.

If you don't have access to milk bread, it's easy to make at home and doesn't require any exotic ingredients.

So one thing to note is that this is designed for bread that's made out of rice and not wheat. Also I'm not a fan of appliance with nonstick Teflon PFAS anymore. It's a known cause of cancer. At $300, they need to use something like ceramic instead for me to bite.
Isn't Japanese milk bread usually made with (wheat) bread flour?

Luckily for you guys, the Sorted Food Youtube channel have already made a review on the toaster. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lq3iwWaoU7w

Give the video a watch and decide if it's worth the price tag.

And no, it doesn't look like the toaster is only for bread made out of rice. That makes no sense since Japanese bread uses wheat.

I feel bad for ppl spending $300 on this to toast their whole wheat American bread. I guess it should work with white bread but you would need to cut it pretty thick to make the center soft and outside crispy.

Lol what, u be trolling. Rice bread??? All good bread is made from wheat, you need gluten to make bread. Rice bread is some gluten free dense rock of a loaf, and does not look anything close to the bread they have pictured with the machine in stock photos. LOL

Texas toast would probably work well, although it still wouldn't be the same as milk bread.
