The weather's starting to get nice again which means going outdoors and getting bitten by mosquitos. Even when I coat myself with Ben's I still get bit and end up with huge itchy welts.

My sister picked up some of this stuff in Japan a few years back at a recommendation from her tour guide and I've been using it ever since. Pretty much immediate relief from the itch and the swelling subsides in a few hours. It works great despite the ridiculous name.

Cheapest price I've seen in the last year (confirmed by CCC).

Well, the ingredients list 5% menthol, so there's your immediate relief. And it's 2% diphenhydramine (so like concentrated topical Benadryl). Also camphor to relieve itching, and glycyrrhetinic acid (licorice extract) for anti-inflammatory and other properties.
If this was Chinese, you might also expect a secret steroidal dose too (like many of the "herbal" remedies).
I had my parents bring some back from Taiwan. It was about 3-4$ usd. This stuff works well for itches.
Any idea how much this would cost in Japan? it

also, can confirm with experience that most bug relief products in Asia are many times superior to anything that can be found in the states.

Thanks & Repped! OP

I never heard of this before and will give it a try since all the usual stuff doesn't work when a mosquito does get me.

I've used calamine and some of those anti-histamine gels before and they kinda work (and are usually a lot cheaper) but this stuff is pretty much instant. Dunno what kind of magic jujumcgumbo they put in it but whatever it is it's worth the extra cost for me.

I think you can get them for around 4-5 bucks at a Lawson's or a corner pharmacy, they're pretty cheap (which is why people import and resell).

Great to know thanks! And yeah, all the other available stuff doesn't work nearly as well as I hope it will once I've been bitten/stung.

90% alcohol from Walmart and a cotton bud/tissue. Wipe down and it should be instant relief...
In constant war with fire ants and mosquitoes.
That is what I use now

My family shop at the actual tsemporium (T S Emporium) all the time. Trust-worthy place/site.
