This looks like a great deal, but I've only pooped in DrEs my whole life.

Any consequences of switching?

Will I use it?

Will I love it and refuse to use DrEs after I use it?

No consequences with switching for most cats.
Mix some of this in with the DrEs for the first few times

I had been using Tidy Cats exclusively for a long time. When I got this and topped off the litter box, my cat (who has trained me that the litter must be cleaned within 10 seconds of using the box, by loudly meow crying / yelling at me right after using it) did the meow yelling at me until I went over to see what's the problem. She's sitting there looking at it, looking at me like 'what the heck is this stuff?' So I used the rake thingy to mix it all up with the old stuff, cat then used the box without more complaining. So, if your cat is a picky pain in the ass like mine, maybe top off the old stuff and mix it up so the cat transitions into the new kind without complaining? I got Dr. Elseys a long time ago on a slickdeal, it was dustier and didn't clump as well (not nearly as well) as tidy cats or fresh step, I never bought it again. The cat didn't mind when I switched her to the Dr. Elsey's and didn't mind when I switched back to tidy cats.

Just a mild buyer beware of using Amazon's Subscribe and Save for heavy items, especially cat litter...

About once a year Amazon appears to go through some cost cutting and will try to send part of (or all of) your S&S order via US Postal Service.

The problem with this is, often, USPS will refuse to deliver something heavy to your door and may (or may not) give you notice that you have to pick it up at the post office.

This happened once with my 38lb Arm and Hammer Clump and Seal. Furthermore, they will often throw it in the same box as other items on S&S.

When I experienced it, I had ZERO notice on my door and had to look on Amazon to see where my order was a couple days after. Then had to make the trip to the post office, with a dolly (hand truck), got in line and as I saw the worker behind the counter struggling with a huge box which showed a leak at one of the bottom corners, my back suddenly seized-up (with NO weight on it) and I knew I was in trouble.

Thankfully another PO customer noticed my grimace and helped me get it on the hand truck and into my vehicle. (This was a shot in the arm for me in my belief in the kindness of everyday people)

But once home and I opened the box to see what the leak was, I went straight to Amazon's customer service and threatened them for a full cancellation if they EVER use USPS for my Subscribe and Save again.

I am approaching a year since that time so I suspect I may be cancelling my Amazon account soon.

See the idea of heavy items with Subscribe and Save is, it's getting delivered to your doorstep. So you aren't handling the heavy weight from the shelf to the cart, to the car, to the house.

I'm just saying, be careful of what you do with heavier items and Subscribe and Save.

Outstretch is by far the best litter I ever used. Their regular price $1/lbs but I would call anything in the 0.50/lb range a deal, grab them.
The cheaper litter will cost $0.35/lbs which they also had recently, so I am all set with litter for at least 6 months at average 0.40/lbs of good quality litter.
Scoop Away at Costco was the cheapest I believe $0.29/lbs but that's like sand and very fine dust.

My cat occasionally gets picky and doesn't cover his poop when I make too many changes to litter.

Anyone else been having issues with subscribe and save? It initially says it will be delivered on June 10th for me but then when I finish the order it moved the delivery date up dramatically to May 20th and I can't seem to figure out how to change that.

Having so many similar cat litters under one brand is too confusing. "Outstretch" means? Long lasting? Why would I want one of the other Fresh Step litters if they aren't also long lasting? "Extreme", "Advanced", "Extreme Advanced". Really? Sam's Club sells Fresh Step "Total Control" that is "fact-acting, long lasting"...so isn't that the same as OutStretch?

I just buy whatever is the best deal at the time as it's too hard to figure out what is what.

14 lb containers for around $6 each are always available at Aldi, to be used as reference, scent and other quality factors aside, as it does the job.

If Amazon wants to undercut Aldi it needs to keep this price (or close to it) as the everyday price, without jumping through hoops or making it contingent with a subscription. I know, it is easy to cancel, still it is an additional hassle, yeah, compare it with the hassle of having to drive to a B&M store.
