As in, the parts are poor quality? or ... ?

Can you provide a link to a similarly specced, less poorly built, pre-build for at or less price than this?
I've been looking for months, and finally settled on this one.

Dell has cheaped out on quality. This is comparable to a space heater. Le have been warned

After several weeks shopping Alienware desktop deals, finally broke down and got 1. Decent deal. Thanks for posting.
This thing is Terrible I had the same one and the CPU ran 85c no matter with air cooling what the motherboard is propertiery, the PSU cords are so short they only work in this build. The case can't house any other motherboard due to propertiery front power connector. I strongly recommend to build your own or get something from I buy power as these have terrible parts that can't be used in other builds once you get comfortable with working with a computer

I bought an r10 and had to return it a few weeks later it was broke. The fans are insanely loud and air flow is awful

Search Gamer Nexus review on similar Alienware system on YouTube. This case is a hot box and and limited upgrade path due to custom design/hardwares. Which is a shame because price is not bad for the spec.

Sounds like you had the air cooled model. This one is liquid cooling and it's a completely different situation. No thermal issues whatsoever.

Got this exact rig in January for $1400. Bought 3x AW2521hfl monitors for it, thermal throttling was an issue but I upgraded the fans, added a aio liquid cooler and replaced the thermal paste with liquid metal for approximately $150. Now she stays about 72° Celsius where she kept running about 84° celceus when I was gaming.

I would debate that. If air flow is an issue then how would the liquid cooled radiator get cooled down? I agree that it would take little longer but in the end the thermals will be the same. Liquid cooled is like how a car engine is cooled down if you choke off the air the engine still overheats even liquid cooled.

Not fan of alienware since dell purchased them. Alienware use to be a premium computer in the 90s/early 00s. Anyone looking at this just due ur self a favor and look at gamers nexus review. They do have other prebuilt reviews as well do it least you can look at your options.

please note most of not all the parts will not be able to be used without all of the parts of this computer. meaning you cant swap out the motherboard in the future or power supply in most cases. the video card will more then likely be a dell manufactured video card so it will not be as good as independent video card makers aka evga, zotac and dare do I say msi (one of worse but still better then dell)

Do not buy this piece of junk. Just check out gamers nexus review and it will probably change your mind about these.

Please keep in mind most ppl buying this thing don't intent to rip it apart and fix the flaws and spent another 150 on a new PC. Plus liquid metal is electrically conducive so someone with no PC building experience shouldn't attempt it unless they are extremely careful or they will brick the PC and have no recourse.

Just passing along what I had to do to make it usable for playing final fantasy 7 remake.

I bought the R10 last year. Don't make the same mistake I did, build your own PC.

Dells are horrible quality - performance wise. Anyone arguing otherwise got scammed into buying one and can't refund it.

It's best to build your own desktop for higher quality, better performance, and lower price. There is barely a stock issue anymore. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ & https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/ for reference on building your own PC.

Dell desktops are not a good product no matter the price. I spent about 250$ replacing fans (to arguably the best Noctua fans) and other parts. The case was still messing up the performance due to the oven nature of it.

I ended up building my own and the difference is night and day. These Dell desktops are very poor quality 90s ovens and it will throttle you or make you deaf from the fan noise.
