Just having multiple apps and mulitple tabs in Chrome can use up more then 8GB or RAM.
Again, 16GB is the sweet spot and any windows machine should have 16GB of RAM.
Can you get buy with less RAM, yes you can. But why?
If was just a few years ago that people made comments that 4GB is enough... point is, if you want to future proof your investment you really should get 16GB of RAM with a windows machine. And there are so many 8GB laptops around, I feel it was due to RAM shortages during Covid.

i5 vs i7 will not matter much in a thin and light device such as this due to cooling restraints.
First time in a while that I don't feel the need to immediately upgrade the SSD. 16GB of RAM is a must these days,.

Comprehensive review of the X12 from screen to cpu to runtimes.
Basically, nice Surface alternative.
Others include Dell 7320 detachable, HP elite x2, ....
Better than surface for the longer runtime, beret keyboard, user replaceable battery with full service manual and parts you can order (Surfaces are non-user repairable by design. $500~ out of warranty full unit swap when a surface battery dies.)
Fools that keep thinking every laptop must have this minimum ram/hd/resolution/etc - Everyone has different needs, so not everyone needs a monster laptop.
This one is fine for the general, daily light to moderate office and school work. Not a gaming laptop. Not a heavy multi tasker. A solid daily web/ebook/movie tablet.
