Once you've dealt with wobbly $14 tripods, something like this is a real pleasure to work with. And it does seem to be a good price. I have a similar model which is quite nice, but can't say anything about this specific one.

Looks like Adorama also has the 265AB model for $79.99 [adorama.com] (Amazon has it at $209 and CCC says it hasn't been below $129.99). The leg sections are slightly larger (26mm vs 23mm), it's a little heavier (3.09 vs. 2.72 lb) and it has a little more weight capacity (13.2 vs 8.8 lb).

265AB now on Amazon for 79.99, as well, FWIW.

I have a similar one (probably same design/factory but different brand)
There is a hook to hang a weight to help stabilize it.
You can use it upside down (attach the camera at the bottom of the vertical section)
The thread on the vertical section is 3/8.the thread on the head is 1/4
I replaced the head with a video head though the head is probably ok for photos.

Indeed much better and more stable than the cheap ones yet reasonably priced.

Would buy it if I did not have one already.

i bought this. it seems pretty good for 60 bucks. i have come to not expect much from sub 150 dollar tripods. however, it is lightweight, folds down to a very small footprint (maybe 13x3.5 inches). in windy conditions , it will need to be weighted down using the hook. i will give it a good workout in the next week.
