Bigger bonuses. Then once it's time to renew, you downgrade to a no annual fee card.

No matter whatever card you get from them, Cap One is wasted credit inquiries. They like to pull ALL three bureaus. Most other cards only pull one. Nothing Cap One offers is worth 3 inquires on your reports.
Cancel after one year. So effectively a $650 bonus.
Show me a no annual fee card with a ~$650 bonus... I'll wait.

CitiPremier is a great card. However, don't repeat my mistake and use it for Amazon purchases and gift cards. These points can be worth so so much more. Learn how to transfer them to airlines and get free travel. Your 80,000 points may put you in business class flight to Europe round trip if you plan ahead, transfer to the right airline, and possibly utilize transfer partner promo when Citi decides to have some

Citi Premier card with $800 rewards that can be redeemed for gift cards or Venture? Pl advise
Run the Capital One pre-screener for credit card, only apply for this card if is shows up as one of the options, otherwise you are likely to get declined.
Just an FYI for anyone considering any capital credit product, their entire points transfer portal has been down for the past 9 days with absolutely ZERO reason provided to consumers. There's no ETA on when it will be live again. You can't transfer your points. Their customer service reps have no answers. There's been no information communicated to anyone publicly about why its down. More than likely some sort of data breach or hack.
So this is maybe they aren't offering any gift card redemptions either.
The last week or two I don't see the option to redeem points for gift cards
I have an offer in the mail for the Chase sapphire card, spend $4k in 3 months and get 100k points with annual fee of $95 or $98(can't remember). Is the Chase offer a better deal that this? I also wondered if getting points or getting miles is better if amount is the same.
Chase sapphire is probably the best overall deal based on my little research. The credit card expert with ChooseFI recommends it as their top choice.

Happy to learn some other ChooseFI listener here. Love Brad and Jonathan( sad to see Jonathan leave the show though). Brad is an expert in travel hack and I agree that CSR is the best card overall. You can combine that with a chase freedom to get 1.5 cash back on anything and transfer that point to CSR points. Travel cash back at CSR is 1point=1.5c. So your 1C spent becomes 2.25c( 1.5x1.5). Fee is $550 a year but comes with tons of perks.

I was recently denied a card from Citi because of too many inquiries. I signed up for 3 cards over the last year, one was Capital One. My credit score is over 800 and low utilization and no missed payments.
Does the 3 pulls from Cap One count as 3 separate inquiries?
