Bigger bonuses. Then once it's time to renew, you downgrade to a no annual fee card.

No matter whatever card you get from them, Cap One is wasted credit inquiries. They like to pull ALL three bureaus. Most other cards only pull one. Nothing Cap One offers is worth 3 inquires on your reports.
Cancel after one year. So effectively a $650 bonus.
Show me a no annual fee card with a ~$650 bonus... I'll wait.

I have/had the Chase Sapphire Reserve. Chase Sapphire Preferred, Amex Platinum and the VentureX. The best was the Chase Sapphire Reserve with the bonus signup. I was happy until they outsourced their travel support to an Indian company, which was worse than worthless. I was unable to cancel a flight reservation within 24 hours because they simply were incompetent. Chase support mentioned they got lots of complaints. So I switched to preferred. Then I switched to Amex platinum. They were good until they removed the access to their airport lounges for more than the cardholder. Since that is the most use I have for the card, I canceled it after that. Now I have VentureX. The major downside is that to get the 5% points, you MUST use their travel site. The other cards you just need to buy the air tickets with their card. There are few places to transfer the points is the other downside. In terms of prices, their web site is a little more except for Wyndham hotels. They have a deal so that hotel chain is a lot cheaper. The major upside is you get TWO memberships to Priority Club so you can bring a total of 4 people in. That is a great perk.

So the venture X gives you 2 membership per card holder and one member can bring 2 people to the Priority Pass Lounges? If that's the case this will be good everyday use card as it also has 2% cash back bonus too

To be precise - it allows you 2 credit cards and each credit card gets one Priority pass card. You can get the second card for a family member. Since we are a family of 4, that works out when we fky together. None of the other cards do that. Also, the Amex Priority pass doesnt work at restaurants, just lounges. So the Amex card is the worst for Airport lounge access, which is the major regular benefit I use,
Also, each card can bring 2 total people at most places (member + 1 other), not 3.

Is that true for capital one venture as well in addition to venture x ?
Didn't know about it! It specifically mentioned that there won't be a credit hit !
I am not sure about the credit hit but the disclaimer which you have to sign says that they will run a credit check. So it is a credit pull. I am not sure if it affect your score

I might wrong but I don't think it will hurt your credit reports IF they " pull ALL three bureaus" at the same date and yes they are doing at the same time that is why you will get instant approval or rejected

SO many better cars out there that pull just one report.
I got 100k through their pre-approval process, which isn't a credit hit to see if you get the offer.
Has a high minimum spend of 10k/6 months, or over double the per monthly spend rate for a longer period of time, so not as attractive to dedicated churners, but I've never been a fan of high velocity churning, and the normal ROI of 2 venture miles per dollar is nice. I'm hoping that around the end of the spend, there with be a Cap1 Venture X 100k deal again, and I or my partner can get that one. 200k points with a base of 2k or potentially more depending on transfer options seems like a good goal for around a year of running spend through Cap1.
People bring up Chase and Chase is great! But the sign up bonus offers are all mediocre right now.
Transfer is worth much more than the 750 especially with some of those partners. Don't redeem for cash, NW estimates the bill led to be as much as 1350 with the right transfer.
