Bigger bonuses. Then once it's time to renew, you downgrade to a no annual fee card.

No matter whatever card you get from them, Cap One is wasted credit inquiries. They like to pull ALL three bureaus. Most other cards only pull one. Nothing Cap One offers is worth 3 inquires on your reports.
Cancel after one year. So effectively a $650 bonus.
Show me a no annual fee card with a ~$650 bonus... I'll wait.

I have/had the Chase Sapphire Reserve. Chase Sapphire Preferred, Amex Platinum and the VentureX. The best was the Chase Sapphire Reserve with the bonus signup. I was happy until they outsourced their travel support to an Indian company, which was worse than worthless.
Generally better off using point transfers anyway than their travel agency

Then I switched to Amex platinum. They were good until they removed the access to their airport lounges for more than the cardholder. Since that is the most use I have for the card, I canceled it after that.
Err... that hasn't actually happened yet though...Centurion lounges won't begin charging for guests until Feb. 1, 2023.... (though I agree I'm likely ditching mine then too unless I get another really good retention offer)
And Priority Pass lounges with Amex still allow 2 free guests even after that (though unlike PP through say CSR it doesn't include PP restaurants).
Have you figured it out? I have Venture X also, and want to apply this card for the additional 75K. Thanks.
My wife applied for Venture card and added me as a card member.
I think I can apply but I want to know about combining points, and if it is possible across family members.
I was able to access the virtual card the next day after getting approved. You can use the virtual card number to pay for things online, but you won't be able to add it to Google/Apple Pay.
was not the case with me.. i literally had to wait for the card to showup as it asked me to enter the 3 digit code to register
So I got this card with the 75k points promo. Pluses: Comes with two memberships to Priority Pass, yours and another card holder. Downside: Points have very limited transfers to other travel partners. Points usage for reservations must be made on their website, which has limited numbers of hotels.
I just got my 75k points after a couple of months spending. I do agree with the limited transfers to other travel flight partners and hotels. I wish they have more options. So disappointed. 😞
I tried the pre-approval option, but this card didn't show up in the results. Does this imply that if I actually did apply, I would get rejected? I was rejected earlier this year for this card despite perfect credit. The pre-approval doesn't seem to impact credit inquiries, score, etc. That's why I tried that option first.

Sure, it's just garbage value- 0.5 cents per mile.
