Bigger bonuses. Then once it's time to renew, you downgrade to a no annual fee card.

No matter whatever card you get from them, Cap One is wasted credit inquiries. They like to pull ALL three bureaus. Most other cards only pull one. Nothing Cap One offers is worth 3 inquires on your reports.
Cancel after one year. So effectively a $650 bonus.
Show me a no annual fee card with a ~$650 bonus... I'll wait.

Is there a portal or site that maximizes the bonus, as in additional cashback/credit for signing up? I see SD doesn't have anything on top. Too bad I wasn't able to take advantage of Amex gold offer from the other thread but I like the upfront yes/no before a credit hit
I have a Venture card and received an email offer to upgrade it to Venture X without the application process. I am interested in the Venture X card but the bonus on this offer is not that great - same spending requirements as a new application but only 25K points. Has anyone had luck calling in and getting the 75K bonus in such a situation?

My wife and I fly to Mexico about once every 5 years. 2024 is our next planned trip. Would this be worth trying to get for the bonus? What about future trips if we only do it on the same 5 year schedule? Ticket prices seem to be in the $800-$1,000 range in our area.

What do you mean by a site that maximizes your points? You mean a website which will guide you how to use these points?
TPG or the point guy has many blogs where you will learn how to use these points.
If you want a more handholding approach there is subscription service for that. I am not sure I am allowed to post the subscription service here.
PM me if you want to know more.
And of course I don't own or profit from any information here.
Salary doesn't matter. It's your credit score and credit use which determines if you get accepted and rejected.
People with multiple 6 figures salary get rejected too!
They say you have 3 months to spend $4k in order to get the bonus points/miles. The 3 months begins as soon as you open the account, however you may not receive the card in the mail for 7-10 days. So actually it's under 3 months.
I was approved and there was a digital card to use online. Can't add it to Google pay though until you have the card.

Probably because the venture has the same sign bonus. Did you not get a bonus when you got the venture card?
This or venture x is the big decision? Leaning towards venture x due to $300' travel credit, $100 annual credit and points multipler. Any suggestions from the folks who are better at math or own this card ?
It come down to if you will buy airfare every year. One could argue that you could get a cheaper ticket not through cap one travel system. I live in FL and small flights to Caribbean and Mexico are on par with other sites like momondo Expedia. So the 10x and 400 worth of vouchers would pay for itself easily. then there are other perks of course
I applied for the Venture card and was approved but sadly only got a limit of 3k. I applied for a different Capital One card the same day and was approved for 10k. My credit is low 700s but I only had two credit cards with 0 utilization.

My credit score is around 735 from creditwise and 710 from fico . I owned a captial one card quicksilver with $26k credit limit for 1.5 years . One late payment and 4 inquires in last 2 years. I am interested in venture x but it said it require excellent credit scores which means more than 760+ …will I get rejected most likely?

I got my Venture card over 10 years ago. Presumably if I apply for Venture X as a new card I can get the higher bonus. Why make me go through the trouble of creating the new account?

It wouldn't be a new account. When I applied most of the info had been prefilled. It took 5 min. I did not answer the optional questions and selected I wouldnt be transferring balance, if that helps
