Anything that swipes (physically or electronically) counts because they get their fee on the transaction. They don't care what you're buying.

Your township probably will charge you a credit card fee but it does qualify for the spend requirement.

No domestic flight is in the $1,000's. Point is you can't fly within the US with these 75k points unless you want to tack on $50/ each way for your 10-20k mi 1 way flight.

I mean even with THIS goalpost move you're factually wrong.

I listed seven transfer partners you can use to fly the various domestic airlines and you fixated ONLY on the ONE that has a $50 surcharge (Aeroplan).

Using BA to book American domestic flights for example has $0.00 in fees (other than the TSA one you pay for any plane ticket) and, if it's short haul, less than 10k points too,

This or Chase Sapphire Preferred (similar promo but with 60k points). Wondering which card gives better rewards/benefits in the long run...

If you closed the card within one year after getting the reward then you are black listed. So will not get approved for a C1 card. So just chill and move on….

If you want to avoid the second year AF, is it better to downgrade the card or pay it and then close the card right after the year and ask for the AF to be refunded? Or is there a better way?

No clue if this is the best way, but my 2nd year AF hit on Nov 18th. I canceled on Dec 9th (I think I just did it through the website). My fee was returned on the same day and my autopayment which was set for Dec 14th was automatically canceled. I had already transferred all my miles to my SO's account.

Has anyone gotten the bonus more than once? i.e. got the bonus, cancelled after a year, waited X months, reapplied and got the bonus again? Or is this a one and done?
