Bigger bonuses. Then once it's time to renew, you downgrade to a no annual fee card.

No matter whatever card you get from them, Cap One is wasted credit inquiries. They like to pull ALL three bureaus. Most other cards only pull one. Nothing Cap One offers is worth 3 inquires on your reports.
Cancel after one year. So effectively a $650 bonus.
Show me a no annual fee card with a ~$650 bonus... I'll wait.

it says on their site -
"Existing or previous cardmembers are not eligible for this product if they have received a new cardmember bonus for this product in the past 48 months." It's important to note that this restriction appears to not apply to card families but rather is applicable only to individual cards."
So I got this card with the 75k points promo. Pluses: Comes with two memberships to Priority Pass, yours and another card holder. Downside: Points have very limited transfers to other travel partners. Points usage for reservations must be made on their website, which has limited numbers of hotels.
Connect to Amazon and it's 1:1 use points before year is up they reset. otherwise I agree points are hard to use.
I read many reports that they got declined and waiting for the letter, If you're looking to avoid the risk of being declined and affecting your credit score, you can use Capital One's pre-approval tool at:
It gathers information about your income and identity, then shows which cards you're pre-approved for—without impacting your credit score. This can be a safer option before submitting a full application.
Can you take the $750 in cash? Or is it only towards travel rewards?
You don't get full value if you take cash on this card. The C1 Spark Cash card will give you cash (or at least statement credit) for full value. I have both and have gotten the bonuses on both.
I've been waiting on pulling the trigger for the Venture X card, hoping that they'll sweeten the promo deal from their standard offer of 75k ($4,000 on purchases within the first 3 months). They use to have temporary promo's every once a while for 90k. Maybe something to that offer will come around again for the holidays...
If your credit is so bad that hard pulls are going to make a meaningful difference then you a) probably shouldn't be getting credit cards and b) probably don't qualify for cards worth getting anyway.
It has to do with the farming of credit card offers.
So basically yall applying to get the free travel miles? Other than that, I guess this is a meh card? I paid off all my CC 3 years ago and kept my Wells Fargo that gives me 2% cashback on everything.

You can redeem miles to cover the cost of any travel purchase within 90 days of the purchase.

I have both but as noted above, the Venture points are only full value if used or redeemed for travel expenses.
I thought Chase was 24 months
