Isn't this by Lenovo themselves?

It's sold and shipped by Lenovo. My only concern is whether 8GB RAM is large enough for my regular school coursework.

It would be more than sufficient for regular school work/productivity, such as: MS Office, emailing, internet browsing, etc. Even sufficient for very light photo editing.

If you're someone who works with 10+ browser tabs open, then 8GB would be a bottleneck at times.

Just bc it might work doesn't mean it will be a good experience. For $900 you want a good experience and 16 gigs might not give it to you.
