Piece of crap. Mine is the 32 GB, have had it 3 months and can't get any where with Lenovo to fix it. Fatal fan error messages, freezes up constantly,, sites don't load, fan runs HOT. I have reset to factory 3 times, each time same thing. When you do restart after it won't load something is where it just freezes, you get a message to press escape to bypass normal startup, that is where you get a squeal and the fatal fan error message and another message to press escape to run in a "slow mode". I first reported the issues to Lenovo within two weeks of purchase, naturally got a dozen different people, that is where the factory resets came in and "it would fix itself with updates". It did an update that said something about Bios that ran a red streak thru the screen and made a terrible screeching noise like a chalkboard being scratched on after third reset. Total BS. Then after 3 resets I got where I could send it back for a big price and they would "fix" it.

Looks like you received a faulty model and that can happen with any brand or model. I had issues with HP and Dell's brand new high end models but that does not mean that all those models are bad. The question is how good is the service for getting it fixed or a replacement.

You are right, But Lenovo needs to fix it and not charge me an arm and leg for a faulty machine. I paid a lot of money for this upgraded junk pile.

I think you mentioned it is just 3 months which is within the standard 1 year warranty. Normally the support for ThinkPad series, even the budget models like this one, are faster and better than their consumer series Laptops.

Unable to understand what you're trying to do with Customer Service. Are you thinking that it is a software or firmware related issue which can be fixed? From the descriptions you have mentioned, it does look some serious problem and not worth of taking the risk. It would be better to show them the issues and then force them to fix it or get a replacement.

Lenovo says they do NOT accept returns after 14 days of purchase for refund or replacement. They say any repairs have to be submitted within 30 days of purchase, by the time I got thru trying to mess around with resets , etc thru Lenovo "support" it is past 30 days. They refuse to stand behind their products. I am thinking BBB time.

I dont know what you are talking about, i have had lenovo tech come to my office at a time given by me to do a repair / he changed motherboard. He came with parts called 2 hours before he came in to confirm if I was ok with him coming at that specific time. Over last 15 years of using lenovo/thinkpad warranty multiple times to get batteries replaced never had a problem that you are mentioning. Off course I always upgrade to their top tier warranty plan.

I am also not sure what he is talking about or just making up stuffs at this point. He is trying to say that the 30 days return window is same as the warranty of the laptop, in case of a failure.

Dude, I think you're drifting from reality and confused between Laptop's return window and Warranty period. 30 days is the return period in which you can return it without any questions. 1 year is the warranty period where the manufacturers are supposed to provide support, repair and replacement, if anything happens as per their guidelines, like drooping it will not be covered in normal warranty.
If there is an issue, even with the normal warranty, they will simply analyze the laptop remotely and if issue can't be resolved, they will provide you shipping lable to ship it to their repair center.
I am just surprise that you don't know that. I mean, not just laptops, but almost every electronics gadgets' warranty works in this way only.

They said I would have to pay to ship it to them, then an estimated $300 repair bill​

Is it a new laptop or refurbished laptop with 3 months warranty? They cannot say that. You can easily go to the Lenovo Vantage Software which will show your Serial number and remaining warranty. You can even open a case in Consumer forum for that if they're saying that because that is literally illegal. If the laptop of yours is not a refurbished laptop with 3 months of warranty, then this is extremely unlikely that they can reject your claim for RMA.

Pure BS. That's not how Lenovo Support works with Thinkpad. You don't even need to email or chat to request an RMA. You can do it for their support website. I sent in plenty of them in for work without any issue. They will mail you a prepaid shipping box no question ask to send it back for hardware issues.

Yeah you have to pay to ship it to them. And did you describe some issue that would have to be user error?

It seems highly unlikely that a new laptop would have the issues you are mentioning and if you truly didn't mess with it I don't see why Lenovo wouldn't take it in an do a quick diag. In fact they should be taking it in anyways to check it out and only then if they saw user error they would let you know its a $300 repair.

I've sent in numerous laptops to Lenovo and never had any issues even with issues that could possibly be user error. When it's quicker to do it myself I tell Lenovo support the part number I need whether it's a keyboard, screen or back panel they ship it very quick no questions asked.
