I sharpened the blades on the scarifier to make it a more effective verticutter. They were designed as blunt from the factory. Blunt may be good for cool season grasses, but it pulls up too many runners for warm season grasses like bermuda.
Customer service is also good. My first one broke. It had an issue with a sensor in the motor where it only worked upside down. SunJoe replaced it for me at no charge and I used the box to ship the broken one back with a prepaid label. I added the extended warranty on it later. The construction on it is pretty flimsy.
I've been eyeing the Ryobi cordless dethatcher/scarifier, but I think I can tolerate a cord for the two times a year I use it on my 3k sq ft yard.

Good tip on sharpening the blades though. Might give that a go for the Bermuda in my yard.

For more than .25-acres of yard, I'd rather rent a gas-powered unit from a local hardware store or just hire a lawn service to do it for me. All depends on what your budget will allow.
Lightweight
Good performance for the price
Cheaper than renting gas-powered or hiring lawn service company
Sufficient power to do an above average to very good job
Includes aerator, which most alternatives don't have
Cons:
Not for larger lawns (maximum is 100ft extension cord length, per manual)
Requires a thick-gauge 15-amp power cord (ideally 12/3), so add that to the cost.
Power cord inevitably is a hassle when turning
Bag is useless, no one ever uses them
Flimsy build quality, isn't made for longevity (don't expect this to last 5+ seasons)
Tips:
Always start from the home and work your way outward. That will minimize the tripping on the power cord.
Always clear out the air intake filter after each use. You will be amazed how much grass gets clogged in there.
Don't share with your neighbors. Seriously, these Sun Joe dethatchers are not built to last. Using once per season on a small lot is fine, but I wouldn't want to wear this out more quickly by letting my neighbors use it.
I found a really good made in USA 100-ft 12/3 extension cord at Sam's Club for $40, but I believe they raised the price recently.

13 amps is a lot of juice.
If you have a really large yard then rent a gas model every year or two, these electric ones are not meant for tons of use anyway, they're pretty cheap and flimsy (work great, but will wear out if used a ton).
