I had a nice looking Tag Huer Chrono Carrera for a few years.I recall someone commenting on it 2x. Once was a lady at a jewelry counter.
I bought 4 high end watches from a guy. I sold 3. The Monoco was a special edition. He didn't realize the added value of the Gulf watch, so I was able to
Profit and keep the Carrera for free.
I eventually put together an very nice custom Seiko SKX007. I put on a Monster dial, new hands, a domed sapphire crystal and a shark mesh band. The odd part is that I have had probably 10 compliments on that watch. One lady excitedly stopped me in an elevator and wanted to know what kind it was so she could buy one for her husband, if it wasn't "ridiculously expensive".
Now I feel like I've contradicted myself slightly, because the second watch does get noticed occasionally. I think the shark mesh band draws the eye. It looks fairly unusual.
I guess the moral of the story is that I wouldn't keep a $3,000 watch, even if it were free.
I hope you didn't really spend all of your savings on a watch, hoping for a job. If you need a job, I hope you find one soon.

Typically those specs would cost over a thousand. That said, I don't love it.
I don't love Swiss movements necessarily more than Japan ones.
And it's not that much less than this specific watch is priced elsewhere.
Atypical chronograph complication may cause grief in the future.
As usual, buy if you like it. Not to sell.
I called Ashford customer service and they said that they can't just accept a return because the watch has been worn even though it is within their 30 day return window. First I have to send it to their repair department for evaluation.
It's been a lot of time wasted! Wish I hadn't bought this watch from Ashford.
