Read the offer terms. Not for current subscribers. Besides, presuming Hulu does the same annual deal again, you don't want to extend a current subscription. You let it end and do a new signup to get another 12 months without any overlap.

Thanks! It also offered Disney+ for $2.99, so for $3.99 I got Hulu and Disney plus for the whole summer for kids. Woo-Hoo
Since I am already a customer, I decided to cancel my account and get a new one under my wife's name/email. During the cancellation, I was offered $2.99 for six months which I accepted
Just FYI for anybody who is interested in trying this.

Handmaid's Tale & Misfits UK are good. Hulu certainly isn't as good as the other major streaming services like Netflix, Prime, HBO Max, Apple, or Disney+, which is why they have to offer discounts like this one

If you saw anything good on cable TV that doesn't have their own channel (ie HBO) it seems like Hulu has it these days. Netflix doesn't have hardly anything recognizable from TV anywhere, it's all stream only stuff. So it highly depends on the user but I see Hulu being very valuable if you want to watch cable TV shows , new or old.
