How would this be for casual gaming? Mostly indie and AA games, would be a bonus if anything more. Possibly light content creation. Appreciate any and all help!

Are these @55h0l35 still putting the exhaust vent on the bottom of the laptop?

So it can just keep overheating?

Like they've been doing for the past 2 decades?

Too good it's an AMD processor. AMD is much more energy efficient.

This is a rather strange omission, but the CPU looks like it is a Ryzen 5 5500U, which is a Zen 2 chip with 6 cores and 12 threads, similar to the 4600U.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/prod.../c08172941

Since they don't explicitly state the model in the listing however, YMMV... but at least it shouldn't be anything older than a Zen 2.

This doesn't use the same cores as a 5600U (Zen 3), but it is still a very solid mobile CPU.

Is this a better deal than the $399 Acer Aspire 5 at Walmart?

ha....you and I are on the same page, but I wouldn't think so. Seems like the tradeoff is 12GB memory and larger screen (if thats what you want) for Acer's much smaller, lighter, and significantly better screen, 2x 3.2 ports, PD charding, and thunderbolt. The better price/performance comparison might be the Gateway refurb at $329

but I thought the ebay refurb was a better deal with the 2 yr warranty. Im not comfortable with a 90 day warranty on a refurb.
