These are service and repair manuals. Not the operator manual. Or the owners manual as you called it. The owners manual is accessible through the in car touch screen or via your Tesla account, which is required to order a vehicle. These are at no cost.

Good to know. One of the main reasons stopping me from buying one. Right to repair is important and if I can't buy parts and service the car on my own or through an independent, that's a deal breaker. I never take my car to the dealer for service because it's usually very costly.

Well that's on top of the average Joe probably shouldn't play with high voltage. There are tons of videos on that.

Based on prior comment, I would not take this person's suggestions with ANY confidence they know what they're talking about.

So are these basically providing what a Haynes repair book provide, but a digital yearly subscription instead of a $30 one time fee for a book you own for life...

Not a Tesla owner, saw this on FP and looked interesting.

Not to start a debate, you could say the same about ICE cars. Regardless if safety is the concern, I have a great network of independent mechanics who are more than qualified too, but even they can't work on the Tesla. That's why I went with a Chevy Bolt instead, at least they make parts available. Of course not as fancy but I voted with my wallet.

Not working for me. I own a model 3 out of warranty so this would be very helpful for me.

Edit: Got it to work after trying 10 minutes later.

funny the people who are stating that the anti-tesla people don't know anything about cars. YOU AREN'T EVEN ALLOWED TO REPAIR YOUR OWN CAR. let me know when you can pick up a wrench.

For some reason, I could not get this to work on my existing Tesla account. I had to create a new account with a different email address before I could get it to work. Seems they don't want actual owners to have access to this...

Is there a DIY user section that archives documentation like this for Tesla repairs?
