Watched my neighbor try to wash their 60ish foot 3 car driveway with this. It was hilarious.

I picked up my roof, installed gutter guards on half my house, cleaned the gutters, spot treated a 20k sqft yard for weeds, sprayed for bugs, then used a gas power washer to clean my back patio/back deck/driveway, and was still finished before them.

I'm all for electric power tools/yard tools/equipment, however, this is undoubtable weak and should be used for small, low volume/low pressure applications.

It will hardly clean a car, will not clean concrete/brick. It will clean vinyl, windows, remove light materials from small spots.

Watching my neighbor hold the nozzle less than 3 inches from the concrete making slow tini sweets was truly had to watch. (Yes, I did offer them my power washer)

What gas powered washer do you recommend then?

It's all about which tool is most suitable for the job. I have a similar Sun Joe model (2588) and it works very well for washing my car (with a foam cannon) and cleaning outdoor furniture. It's less hassle for me than maintaining a gas engine. I just plug it in and it starts up (and shuts off when I'm not pulling the trigger). I'd never try to clean a driveway with it, but the surface cleaner attachment would make it possible. These do have their place.

I bought this (or similar) 2 years ago for 500 in store. Its overkill for most of what I do, but it is an absolute beast. Washing cars, cleaning concrete/brick, removing paint, washing siding, its been a beast. Its very strong, I was cleaning my back deck and used the 15 degree nozzle and it actually cut the paint and ripped into the wood.

My washer is very similar to that, It has a red cover on the engine, don't know if its the same model engine.

I have that washer at my rental property and it works very well to clean siding, driveways, and entryways that develop mold on siding.

Yep. It's much more expensive. I value time and efficiency accordingly. These go in sale every year in store to around 500. Don't know about this year. If I save 40 hours a year by having the proper machine, it pays for itself. It will also outlast the electric machine 10:1.

This is plenty for spraying a car but weak for foam canon it seems.
youtube.com/watch?v=siJjsdDhwzQ

BUT, this guy youtube.com/watch?v=aSrCLQ7fJsA simply changes the "orifice" in the bottle
and gets super thick foam, so I might just pick this washer up.

Thanks.

I have the 2598(?) and it started leaking almost instantly. The pressure gun is also super fragile and broke. SunJoe was great about replacing everything under warranty, but the brand new replacement also started leaking after the second use. This causes pressure drops and the motor bogs down. The foam cannon is kinda neat for light duty car washing, but I otherwise regret the purchase. Going to try Ryobi or Karcher. Electric units of course have their limitations, but not breaking right away shouldn't be a huge ask.

Based on how their new products perform, I'd most certainly be hesitant to buy a refurb unit. Just be aware that this is a cheapo brand (as price reflects) that is constantly shilled by SD staff. You might have better luck than some of us (people rave about the SunJoe dethatcher in other threads), but take this and other posts for what they are - advertisements.

The picture is not correct.
The hose pictured clips into the wand. It does not screw in. That type of wand cannot be used with other longer regular type hoses with the 22mm fitting.

The wand in the picture is NOT the type for the pictured hose. The wand pictured (and the one referenced in the user manual) accepts a normal hose with a 22mm fitting.

To me it sounds like you are trying to say the tool lacks use because your neighbor was misutilizing it. Is a drill-driver a bad tool because someone might, and fail, to build a deck using it? Or just the wrong tool for the job? Most knowledgeable people would know a little electric pressure washer might not be the best device for a 1000+ sq/f driveway but not everyone (or anyone!) was born with that experience. If it were my neighbor (assuming I was on good terms with them), I might have made a friendly suggestion as opposed to reveling in their suffering.

I offered my washer, they declined, I offered advice, they declined. They didn't want pollute the ground and use my driveway wash.

Most people would figure these "power washers" are actual power washers and not glorified hose attachments that cant accomplish most tasks that people use power washers for with reasonable efficacy. (car washing, fence/deck cleaning, house washing, sidewalk cleaning, etc)

You suggested something that currently costs 11x more and is no where near the same target audience. When someone is shopping for a commuter car, is telling them to buy a dually F450 really helpful advice or just an excuse to talk about what you own?

Yes, most people do realize that an $80 item and another that costs $900 (or $500 randomly) are not going to be comparable. A single home owner might even be able to justify owning both as one is much more powerful, while the other is much more convenient and portable for light duty tasks. I only use my gas PW 2-3 times over the summer, the rest of the time the gas tank is empty. When I need to clean out a trash can, clean bird crap off a few patio chairs, or rinse off the driveway, these are wonderful, quick, and require ZERO maintenance other than making sure there is no water left in the lines which can freeze.

No one but you is suggesting you are going to be washing a house or cleaning hundreds of feet of fencing with this item. BTW, you do not need a 4200 PSI for cleaning a car....unless you are trying to remove paint. The goal is quick rinsing and knocking off mud. A good hose nozzle could do both actually.
