Not sure why this knife is so cheap. Currently selling on Amazon for $136.12. Made in USA and the second best selling made in USA folding knife on www.smkw.com when I sorted. Says it goes for $219.99 retail on their site.
I'm considering getting one just in case I get the matching 1911, but I don't buy very many gun brand knives as most aren't very good (those Hogue SIG models are solid in my experience but there are only a few other good examples that come to mind, not counting one-off collaborations like the Spyderco Glock armorer Endura).

This is not a gun brand anymore, Taylor Cutlery owns both S&W knives and Schrade, they all produce budget quality knives.
Got the knife today. For $42 I'm happy with the knife. Action is a little tight, but the knife has a premium feel and is pretty heavy. Not sure I could have found a better made in USA knife for the same price.
S and W is just a name, it doesn't stand for quality or even value. I collect a lot of knives and have never seen any S&W I would pay money for. The quality just isn't there.
