Still waiting to receive my shop card from the previous promo
I was just on a chat with a Costco rep about the $150 gift card for spending $751+ a couple weeks ago. After saying I didn't qualify, I told her I took screenshots of the products (a tip provided by a fellow SD-er, thank you whoever you are), and emailed them to Costco while we were on the chat. She then confirmed that I was indeed eligible and that I would be getting the card via email in about a week. If anyone wants the chat transcript, please message me,.
DJI Mini 2 bundle looks good.I see this refurb was front page at $384...

With Costco bundle you are also getting extra battery and it is brand new with Costco warranty and price is $440 - $100 = $340.

It's a shitty thing because you are making them pay for the shipping cost because you are too cheap to pay for it yourself. I mean FFS how do you not get that.

I blame stupid policies.

I was just in yesterday, they don't do ANY shipping from stores. They don't even coordinate with 3rd party local shippers like some other stores do. BUT, you can order online and get it shipped wherever *for free*. Granted, online prices are *usually* higher than in-store but not necessarily. Also, they won't officially hold anything, but if you buy it, they'll hold it. [their excuse is..... literally happened to me last weekend - "we don't have the area to hold items" but "oh if you buy it we'll hold it" (in the same nonexistent area)]

It's their fault for setting up dumb polices. Like I said, they will price adjust within 30 days of purchase so if the price goes down they will just refund you the difference @ CS. BUT you can return stuff (depending on what it is) for a very long time, so if you're outside the 30 days you can just buy the item and take it right to CS and return the first-bought (more $$) item. Dumb, but their policy.

Too bad they can't automate it rather than waste everyone's time and effort doing the product hokey pokey. I did this with them a couple months ago with some heavy racks - went to CS and told them they could either process a price adjustment OR I could buy the racks only to immediately return them. They weren't asses about it, just said since it was outside 30 days they couldn't do the PA.
Yeah, it's actually policy and the refund clerk can get into trouble with managers. Anytime there's an adjustment, it's logged down and signed off by a supervisor. That paper later will be audited by payroll/accountant admin. If they see we(refund clerk+supervisor) will get a write up. It's stupid but yeah, I'll tell everyone that they can buy for cheaper price and refund it for the higher cost since we have no limits on the refunds(except for certain electronics).

Literally everyone does it. There are post on slick deals that expose and abuse loop holes all the time at the cost of the companies. Sorry(not sorry) that I'm making a $188 billion dollar company that make $25++ billion dollars in PROFITS foot the shipping cost. Oh and believe me, costco as a company knows that people use this loop hole but don't do anything so they can keep their customers happy.

I dunno tough to even get them to honor the last promo on shop cards.

Was told they would send it via email. THen I chatted and they said they "ran out."
I'm like, uh, how do you run out of virtual shopcards?! It's like the US government just printing more money... it's endless!

Does the Costco Visa Card have to match the membership? I'm guessing if I use a family member's Visa to pay for it with my account (we have different Costco accounts) it would work or no?

Also, how do you use virtual shop card in store

Just to be clear everyone doesn't do it and that's not how you use the word literally. Let me guess you were that guy I saw last year returning a 15 yr old Mitsubishi DLP TV with an inch of dust on that he "just bought" and wanted his $ back in full despite not having a receipt.

It's people like you that made them change their electronics return policy and likely in the future other policies and the ridiculous part of it is that you feel entitled to do it because of the profits they make, of which they made $5B not $25++B, but really it's not like you care. They could lose a ton of $ and you would still feel entitled to do something that any reasonable person would know isn't right.

Honestly I hope they close loopholes like this. After all it would lower prices for the rest of us not gaming the system.

Agreed, but it's probably still allowed because not "literally everyone" takes advantage of it. Well either that or maybe they think a majority of their members have morals. I dunno Smilie

I was there a while ago and some lady was returning 2 cases of empty Veuve bottles because "they tasted off" and I was like WTF maybe stop opening them after 3 bottles. Clearly she drank them all and then just returned them. It's sad how many immoral people there are who return stuff to Costco simply because they don't want to pay for it.

Comparing my return to get money back from shipping cost vs returns that are ridiculous like your examples are two different things.

I WORK at costco as a refund clerk and I see all kind of ridiculous returns and all of us (refund clerks) don't agree with it and think it should have a limit to returns. I have people return stuff that is 5 years old and is discontinued by the manufacture. Shit like that I don't agree with at all. But when it's like buying stuff online to get it ship to your house and doing the return loophole to get money back on shipping, I don't see it being a big deal. Online have more options that warehouse don't have. So because online has it in stock or a different color or size that the warehouse don't have, i have to pay more for shipping? fark that shit. They still getting the money from the product. Plus they get a discounted rate for shipping from UPS because of an agreement to work with them and they actually charge member/customers a little more than what UPS charge them. We know because we get few things shipped out of the warehouse via UPS for online orders.

I have scanned this entire thread and can't find a clear answer to my scenario as follows: I bought a TV for $1,099.99 online on 4-28-2022 and took delivery on 5-20-2022. It Qualified for a $200 Shop Card at time of purchase because it was over $1000. Now the TV is on sale for 999.97 until 6-5-2022. I have not got the shop card yet. So I Want to know if I do a price match to get roughly an extra $100 back then will they still send the $200 Shop Card? Anyone know?

Short answer: yes. Bought a pair of LG washer and dryer for $2499. Price went down to $1749 so I sent in a price adjustment request. Didn't get any update from Costco for days so I contacted them via chat and they helped accelerate the process. Got the refund ($750 plus tax) next day and the $500 shop card yesterday.

I believe you should still get the shop card promotion but I hope you filled out the price adjustment today because it's 30 days when you place the order, not 30 days when you take delivery. So today would be the last day for you to do it.
