Honestly, a decent ball could save mid-high handicappers a few strokes. But finding the RIGHT ball is key. I switched to Kirkland balls and I'm actually able to finally one hop and stop on the greens. NEVER been able to do that!
BTW, if you don't need 4 dozen balls, it's $10 off $50 or more also...
Sure, I mean, it's possible that a $5 ball will turn your 98 round into a 96 round. And you will lose 5 or 6 of them. Is that worth it?
Every time I see a "deal" on golf balls, it reaffirms that I made the right choice to switch to used balls. I usually get Z-stars, XV's, and Q Star Tour's for $6-10/dozen in AAA or AAAA condition.
I'm about an 11 cap and still hate losing 2-3 balls per round at $0.50-1.00 per ball. I don't think I could go back to losing $10+ worth of balls per round like I used to.

With this deal, it comes out to $2.30 per ball. Not sure I have ever seen ANY golf ball that was $5 a piece
ProV's bought full retail in a pro shop can definitely get close... I've definitely seen $50+ for a dozen ProV's before, especially logo balls in a gift shop or at a resort course.

Dang. 11 handicap losing 2 or 3 balls per 18?
This is a great deal for good balls. Play soft around the greens, spin pretty well, and fly nicely if you have the swing speed for them.

Remember, handicap is calculated by the average of your best rounds, so an 11 cap can still have a few stinkers in the high 80's or low 90's. If you're keeping every round below 85 you're likely a single digit cap, and if you're playing closer to bogey golf you can easily lose a couple balls per round (especially true with ESC)... just depends on where your "above par" strokes come from.

Used balls are probably costing you strokes and may even be the reason you lose (some) balls. Check out MyGolfSpy and other independent groups testing of them, they virtually always perform dramatically worse than new balls. You're probably better playing off playing cheap new surlyn balls. I stopped playing used balls once I saw the data and never looked back.

I can confirm, at a local course recently (not an expensive one I might add), they wanted $60/box of pro v1's (or pro v1x's). Aka, $5/ball. I couldn't believe it.

Few yrs back most shops across the USA had similar srixon Z-Star deals.
It was $20/dz, I picked up 2 of 5 dz, used $20 off $100 twice, basically 10 dz for $160 + tax.
Yellow ones are my favs.
This is not bad.
