So I bought this awhile back just to try it out (I have the other Logitech M330 Silent Plus as well) mainly due to it having side buttons. I wouldn't say they're as quiet as the left/right clicks but they're definitely a bit more quiet than other mice might be. If I had to compare it to another mouse in terms of volume, with the left click being a 1 on this mouse while a left click on a G502 for instance is a 10, the side buttons range somewhere between a 5-6 or so. Oddly enough the back button is quieter than the forward one so the back might range more of a 3-4. The middle mouse button would probably also be around 6-7 or so. So they're definitely quieter but not completely silent like the left/right click buttons are. Hope that helps.

This M650 should have left and right buttons as "silent" but the middle wheel and 2 side buttons are not "silent" from what I have read.

Had this but returned it. There's no where to rest your fingers like on the M510. Results in a lot of accidental presses. Wasn't worth $40 but $20 is ok
