Why do you say that? Really curious. Could be either the game is really bad or if it is truly simulating war then it might be a way of saying it is really good haha

Start game being happy, leave game depressed. I still bought it tho, $2 is a great price for all dlc.

It's more the latter! Really good but (appropriately) sad game.

The second reason... just way too accurate in depicting the horrors of war in your home.

Game play is like Maniac Mansion... without humor. Only pain, suffering, depression and survivors guilt.

Hella worth 2 bucks.

Yeah, This War of Mine is one of a small few games that actually hit me emotionally. I've played it many times.

It's best on a nice sized touchscreen like an iPad. I own like 5 copies of it on different systems (PS/PC/IOS/Android...). Honestly, the tablet is the only way this game should be played.

I have an extra steam key for the PC if someone wants it.

++ This War of Mine. On PC, with the ability to quit and restart a bad day (Marko FTW!). Not sure how it'd work on Switch. Tried it on iOS and was disappointed.
- Moonlighter. Very repetitive combat and sales. As the name suggests, it's almost more about running your store than it is about clearing the dungeons.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Moonlighter yet. For anyone who loves a rogue-lite mixed with managing a sales economy, it's wonderful. I've heard people compare it to Stardew Valley meets Dark Souls (not nearly as difficult though).

Go into a dungeon, collect as much stuff as possible while staying alive, sell your loot, upgrade your gear. Rinse and repeat.

Dungeons and dungeon crawling remind me of top down Zelda games.

The economy part is really what surprised me. Certain items sell for more or less based on demand, so you need to really feel out how appropriately you price out your items. I had way more fun with managing the shop than I thought I would.

Highly recommend the complete editon, way more content for under a buck more.

....
Stardew Valley is much more complex and better done. Moonlighter... 'Rinse and repeat...', and repeat, and repeat, and repeat. It's one of the few games I really just couldn't stand after a while it was just so repetitive. Even the monsters from one level to the next were just the same, only maybe different color (? it's been a while, but think that's right) and higher stats. Not unusual in itself, but just one more thing in an already very repetitive game.
