I purchased this https://www.lowes.com/pd/EGO-POWE...5001957615 for $184.93 not including cashback and discounted giftcards last week. Any particular benefit of the carbon fiber model you purchased?
I have this one. It's pretty good, but the powerload sucks.
1. It won't take any ol line, even if it's the right diameter. I had to buy their stuff.
2. If you like to turn your trimmer sideways to edge, forget about it. The guard is required and in the way keeping you from seeing where your line is.
3. It wastes line like crazy. I have one foot sections of line laying around the yard because the powerload keeps randomly "adjusting".
Those are the cons. Other than that, it's quiet, powerful, kinda light, and gets the job done. I just wish they would have put some thought into real world use.
I ended up buying the edger since I couldn't turn the trimmer sideways like my Husqvarna gas. The edger actually works really well and I'm glad I got it. I shouldn't have had to get it, but I don't regret it.
On another note, I do like this battery system better than the 40v Ryobi but man it's big and heavy.

Well said! I agree with all your comments. Ego String trimmers are CRAP. I also have a Black & Decker 20 volt string trimmer, that is worlds ahead of the Ego CRAP. I still have my Ego string trimmer. (just waiting for a reason to gift it to an inlaw! ) OBTW you do not have to buy the Ego overpriced blades for the edger. ANY edger blade meeting the criteria 8" X 2" X ~1/10"to 1/8" thickness with a 1" hole will work fine.
Missed this deal so Bought a Lowes coupon only for $2.50 to get 10% off at Lowes. Placed order online with coupon for store pickup
Same model for $270, and did local curb side pick up. Will be testing the trimmer out today.
