Just 20¢ more than Amazon's sale price of over 4 years ago(for the 69 qt).

Wonder if Amazon gets the news and price matches.

I have this type and a couple of the kingsford charcoal storage for wood pellets and pet food. The kingsford is more air tight.

Some people will hate on these but for the price they're great. Been using ours for dog food for 2.5 years now and no moisture/mold/issues whatsoever

different plastics are approved for different uses. this generally comes down to additives used in manufacturing that can leach out into the contents of whatever you are storing in it. So for food use, use a container that uses materials approved for food use.

The different materials are generally used in different applications based on the foods the types of foods they will be in contact with and the temperature usage they will be exposed to. For example, soda bottles are good for soda, but not for other products.

Which Plastics are Food Grade?


High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE): the most common household plastic, used for cereal box liners, juice containers and milk jugs


Polypropylene: also quite common, used for reusable food storage containers and single-serving tubs. Microwave safe!


Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET): generally used for thicker food containers, like 2-liter soda bottles, peanut butter jars and salad dressing bottles. PET resin is stable, so it resists microorganisms like bacteria, as well as corrosion.

Most large containers specify the volume by gallon, but strange these never do.
