good price for low sustainable write speed CFExpress, should work well for cameras other than R5/Z9.

I recently upgraded from D7100 to D850 (still in a box) and looking for a memory card. Is 128GB SanDisk Extreme Pro CFExpress Type-B good choice? Should I also order SanDisk 256GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I Card - C10, U3, V30, 4K UHD, SD Card - SDSDXXY-256G-GN4IN https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-256GB-Extreme-UHS-I-SDSDXXY-256G-GN4IN/dp/B07H9VX76D?ref_=ast_sto_dp&... [amazon.com]? Is it a good combo? Thanks for any help!

Keep in mind the D850 needs latest firmware or a firmware update to use CFExpress cards. They will also tend to be a bit slower than XQD cards, so it's hard to know if it's a "good" choice, but those should both work if you don't need to take a lot of high frame rate images.

I do not recommend this for R5/Z9, this card generates more heat than any other brand. It can not keep up with record speed.

I have an R5 and want to record in 4K. A card you recommend?

any cfexpress type B is sufficient for 4k recording on the R5. heck even for 8k.

where you may notice slower cards versus faster cards is under heavy 20fps shooting. The R5 buffer isn't huge. The reason why people don't notice that the buffer is small is because cfexpress type B cards are so fast to empty. That's why I hated my Sony A7R3. Once you fill the buffer, it takes minutes to empty.

The other time you will notice a faster card versus a slower card is when transferring to your PC. That's when I definitely notice.

Otherwise, for myself and myself only, I don't trust Sandisk as I've had issues in the past. I use Sony Tough Cards. They're fast and they've yet to fail me.

For personal use, Delkin is the coolest and then was the slower lexar(but it sometimes can not catch up with 4k 120 if you run prolong time). Sandisk CFB would certainly heat your cam faster. If you for studio or other stuff you get paid, an external record with 2.5 SDD with save you a few hundred bucks.
