I see people asking about taste so I figured I would comment.
Kicking Horse makes quality coffee. Its not your neighborhood roaster's finest organize small batch, but neither is it supermarket grade whatsoever. I believe they do carry this line at Target though! lol.
That said, Its good stuff, but keep in mind this seems to be their medium roast, not medium-dark or dark which many prefer for a stronger flavored espresso. Medium is, however, preferred for espresso by most expert baristas for various reasons, but I like mine medium-dark to dark!
And yes, to answer another question, you can use any whole bean coffee for drip, espresso, pour over etc. as it comes down to the grind and roasting preference. If you like a medium roast, simply grind this coffee according to your preferred method.

I usually use Lavaza in my superautomatic, but I've had 2 different medium roast flavors from Kicking Horse and it's incredible. Ince my current 2lb bag of Lavaza is gone I'll be switching my subscribe andsave to Kicking Horse. It's comperable in price on Amazon.
Interesting! I believe that Kicking Horse brand is owned by Lavazza...does anyone know if it is considered their upscale brand (like Toyota's Lexus) :-) ?

This brand is great. I have been buying it for the last 2 years. I prefer their lighter roasts (lucky Jim, smart ass) to darker roasts (three sisters, cliff hanger) for both bean to cup espressos and pour overs. I think all the roasts I tried are better than Lavazza. The price is amazing, but check the expiration if it's listed - usually discounts this much points to close to expiring old stock.

I don't do ground coffee, only whole beans, but we get this from time to time when we drink our sub coffee before it ships again. It's our emergency go-to outside of the subscription coffee.

I purchased Kicking Horse whole beans during a previous offer. All the beans arrived with an expiration date of 4 weeks out.

why not try a moka pot? assuming you're using a standard stovetop percolator, the moka pot is functionally the same but will give you results that are closer to espresso.

gosh, i'm just now realizing that i haven't even seen a percolator in almost 20 years and even then it was old fashioned!
lol mine is an electric presto. Much easier to use and clean.
