Great deal, only downside is the stupid gorilla glass logo in the top left. That would get really annoying.

Reviews also mention loud keyboard.

I would rather get the adata xenia even if it has only 512GB ssd instead of 1TB on this. The xenia has two nvme m2 slots as well as two sodimm slots as well as an additional usb-c with DP and PD function. Unless you must have touch screen

Well, duh! That is the appeal of the Swift 5 series, isn't it? Lightweight and touchscreen. Probably the lightest 14 inch touchscreen there is.

The i5 in the Xenia 14 likely performs competitively to the i7 in the Swift 5 because of its cooling capability (and Swift 5's lack thereof)
According to Notebookcheck's reviews, the Xenia 14's i7 scores 15% better than Swift 5's i7 in Cinebench R23. Considering how the i5 is innately very close to the in multi-core, we can assume the Xenia 14's i5 performs better than the Swift's i7 in multi-core. It'll still be weaker single-core though, since the Swift won't throttle in single-core.

The competition is heating up in this category. ASUS really improved the Zenbook 14 for 2022, so far the only one I see available is the OLED w/ 8GB Ram and 256GB SSD for $750.

that's nice for the oled screen and 12th gen intel. But nonupgradeable 8GB ram? wtf...lol.... for $750? what are they smoking?

I would still take the xenia over that.

Well there will be higher spec versions and a LED version as well, although not likely for $700.

8GB is fine today, but I don't trust Microsoft not to gimp 8GB machines a year or two from now. I will only buy 16GB.

What holds me back on the Xenia is users saying it won't survive a 3 foot drop. This is for my kid, he drops things.

Yes, that magnesium composite chassic tends to shatter rather than dent. ;( I dropped my motile from about 1ft above hard tile floor and that's what happened.

So apparently the title must be incorrect because this seems to have turned into a discussion about the XPG Xenia laptop. Which is strange because the title also says "touchscreen" (why i opened this post) but I have heard users touching the screen on the Xenia and NOTHING happens. Go figure.

Don't need this but almost jumped...then decided not to. The online reviews suggest a fail rate that's...high.

FWIW, it went back up to ~$900 this week, then dropped to $680 just now.
